McDonald's All-American Game snubs: 10 who should have made the 2024 boys team
Cooper Flagg was a slam dunk to make the 2024 McDonald's All-American Game roster, but mercy, there were some big-time snubs — including two of his Montverde Academy teammates.
The boys East and West teams for the 2024 McDonald's All-American Game on April 2 were announced Tuesday, and and now we'll shine the spotlight on some players who should have made the cut.
To make SBLive Sports' list of the top 10 snubs, players had to have been nominated for the game.
Annor Boateng, Little Rock Central (Arkansas)

6-foot-6, 210-pound F, Missouri Tigers signee
The defending Gatorade Arkansas Player of the Year has been even better as a senior, averaging a double-double while leading Little Rock Central to an 18-4 start and No. 3 ranking in the state.
Morez Johnson, Thornton (Illinois)

6-foot-9, 235-pound C, Illinois Fighting Illini signee
Johnson has been racking up double-doubles for No. 3-ranked Thornton after transferring from St. Rita. He recently scored a career-high 30 points, adding 17 rebounds and six blocked shots in a win over Niles North.
Kon Knueppel, Wisconsin Lutheran (Wisconsin)

McAndrew flew up the recruiting rankings off a stellar junior season in which he led Wayzata to a state title. He's kept the momentum going as a senior, averaging over 20 points per game.

6-foot-4, 180-pound G, Houston Cougars signee
Miller, who scored 68 points in a game earlier this season against Oakwood, is averaging 30.5 points, 10 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game this season for the 23-0 Notre Dame Knights. The son of rapper Master P recently had 29 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Harvard-Westlake.

Newell is the highest-ranked recruit to not make the McDonald's All-American Game, and it has to do with the team he plays for. Only three players are allowed on the roster from one team, and Cooper Flagg, Derik Queen and Liam McNeeley are the three who made it from national No. 1 Montverde Academy. We'll let readers debate whether it's a fair rule, but Newell surely doesn't like it at all. He'd be a shoo-in without it.

Nowell showed his all-around game in the Panthers' 58-41 win against DeMatha Catholic (Maryland) at the Hoophall Classic, finishing with 17 points, five rebounds, nine assists, and three steals. He's averaging over 25 points per game this season.
Jase Richardson, Columbus (Florida)
Jase Richardson (4) led Columbus to the Les Schwab Invitational championship.
