Six Texas high school girls basketball teams will leave the Alamodome in San Antonio UIL state championships on Saturday after two action-packed semifinal days.

Three of the six UIL girls teams remaining are ranked nationally by SBLive/Sports Illustrated: Duncanville (No. 13), Mansfield Timberview (No. 15) and South Grand Prairie (No. 25).

MARTIN'S MILL STUNS NOCONA AT BUZZER
Martin's Mill teammates swarm Kara Nixon after she hit a game-winning layup to beat Nocona in the UIL Class 2A state girls basketball title at the Alamodome in San Antonio on Saturday afternoon.

After a free throw by Megyn Meekins tied Nocona and Martin's Mill up with eight seconds left, Nixon drove the length of the court, dribble-spun and banked in the game-winning shot at the buzzer. The Martin's Mill bench emptied onto the court and a dogpile ensued after a 44-42 defeat of Nocona.
FIRST HALF
Megyn Meekins scored 10 first half points and Nocona took care of the ball to combat a hot shooting night from Martin's Mill. MM shot 50 percent from the field in the first half, but coughed up nine turnovers to Nocona's four.

-- Keelie Williams hit two enormous 3-pointers in overtime to help Shallowater pull ahead and fend off Huntington for its third state title in program history.

-- Jesie Rodgers hits a 3 with 46 seconds left and Harleigh Havard drilled another as time expired and Huntington steals the lead back heading into the break.
-- The Fillies aren't letting Huntington get anything easy out of its full-court pressure. Linley Wright had a steal around mid court, but Shallowater couldn't convert.
-- Shallowater junior Maggie Grimes is 4 of 4 from the free throw line in the first quarter to help Shallowater take a six-point lead early.

CLASS 1A
FINAL: NEWCASTLE 40, TURKEY VALLEY 27

Mattie Dollar had exactly half of Newcastle's offensive output on its way to the program's first state title on Saturday.
The standout junior guard scored 24 points, rattling in two 3s and all 12 free throw attempts, and pulled down 11 boards to help keep Turkey Valley at bay and make good on the Bobcats' first-ever trip to state week.
Mya Cabrera added 10 points and 10 boards for the Cats, who shot a stellar 42 percent from the field and hit 15 of 18 attempts at the line.
Valley junior forward Reese Cruse led the Patriots with 18 points on 8 of 14 shooting, Trin Schlueter pulled down 11 boards (five offensive) and both accounted for four steals apiece as Valley tried to stop, slow and stymie Newcastle through intense pressure.
