THURSDAY SEMIFINALS (LIVE)

5A (FINAL: MANSFIELD TIMBERVIEW 67, CEDAR PARK 45

Refresh for latest.

-- Mansfield Timberview will play Frisco LIberty in the Class 5A girls championship on Saturday at 3 p.m.

SECOND HALF

-- This one is all Mansfield Timberview. The Wolves have an 18-point lead with just over a minute to play.

-- While many teams in the Alamodome have struggled from deep on Thursday, Cedar Park is shooting well - around 40 percent from 3.

FIRST HALF

-- Tamaiya Mims led all scorers with 11 points on 4 of 7 shooting, and Timberview gained a 16-1 advantage on the offensive glass. It takes a 21-point lead into half.

5A (FINAL): ABII'S NEAR-TRIPLE-DOUBLE LEADS FRISCO LIBERTY TO BLOWOUT

FINAL

-- Jacy Abii finishes with a near triple-double team-high 17 points, 18 boards, eight assists and six blocks. Four Liberty starters — Aziyah Farrier (12 points), Keyera Roseby (13) and Lilian Johnson (11) — finished in double figures scoring.

-- Alaysia Cook had 10 of Randle's 14 first half points, and was almost completely shut out after halftime. She finished with 13 points and Kurynn McNeill also had 13. The Lions were held to 17.9 percent shooting.

3Q

-- Randle comes out of halftime firing. Kurynn McNeill rips a 3 to open the scoring, and give the Lions their first made field goal since the first quarter.

2Q

-- Frisco Liberty scores 14 unanswered points ended the first half on a 25-3 run to blow this game open. What the Redhawks are doing to Randle's offense can be likened to a boa constrictor.

-- Frisco Liberty's size is evident. The Redhawks, who start four players 5-foot-10 and taller, have held Richmond Randle to 15 percent shooting (just four made field goals) and has turned a 25-18 rebound advantage and 13-5 second-chance points.

1Q

-- Frisco Liberty has a 21-13 lead after one quarter. Randle's offensive output has been shouldered by Alaysia Cook, who had 10 of her team's 13 first quarter points (on 3 of 5 shooting).

-- Jacy Abii zips an impressive a one-handed shovel pass past the defense to Judith Aluga for an open layup. The 6-foot-1 five-star sophomore is showing she's a cut above the competition. She has seven boards and four assists.

3A (FINAL) SHALLOWATER 59, RAINS 47

Shallowater has a chance to win its third state championship in program history.

Carli Buckley scored 20 points — including three 3s — and Maddie Grimes hauled in 12 boards to lead Shallowater past Rains in the 3A semifinals Thursday.

Jasey Campbell led with 14 for Rains, which hung around but not within reach.

The Fillies (27-12) plays Huntington on Friday at 10 a.m. for the Class 3A title.

3A (FINAL): HUNTINGTON 47, COLUMBUS 33

It's Kyra Anderson's world and we're all living in it.

The 6-foot-1 center and 3A District 21 MVP dropped 28 points on 11 of 16 shooting, pulled down 17 boards (nine on offense), four steals and two blocks to help the Red Devils pull away in the second half.

Huntington took a five-point lead into the halftime break and led by as 16 in the third quarter thanks to 14 team steals to Columbus' six. There must be a lid on the rim, as no team shot above 35 percent from the field.

Karlee Mathis led Columbus with 14 points and Anaya Gardner scored 11.

The winner faces the Rains/Shallowater winner at 8 a.m. on Saturday. The other 3A semifinal tips at 3 p.m.

1A (FINAL): TURKEY VALLEY UPENDS NECHES

Turkey Valley's fourth-ever state week appearance continues. Anna Ferrel scored a game-high 16 points and Trinity Schlueter had 15 as the Patriots booked a trip to Saturday's championship

1A (FINAL): NEWCASTLE DOWNS WESTBROOK

Newcastle downed Westbrook to punch the first ticket to Saturday's Class 1A title on Thursday morning, pulling away from Westbrook. Newcastle will face Neches on Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
