Vote: Who is the best scorer in Massachusetts boys basketball of 2023 so far?
Every week is another chance for basketball players throughout the country to put up stellar performances.
That’s when the top scorers come out and show why they’re some of the best when it comes to scoring the basketball. We’ve decided to go state-by-state across the East Coast and try to compile the top scorers around.
We ask the question of how who’s the top scorer out of Massachusetts as we continue throughout New England. We give you eight candidates to choose from.
Voting concludes on February 29th, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.
Here are the nominations:
Tavon Rhodes, Neighborhood House Charter: Rhodes has played very impressively this season as one of the state’s leading scorers, averaging just under 30 points per game. The 6-foot-1 guard is pouring in 29.9 points per game.
Derrick Twum, Innovation Academy: The wing player has been difficult to stop when he steps onto the hardwood for any opponent. Twum is averaging 28.9 points per game and shooting 58 percent from the field.
Victor Kukta, Fitchburg: Another guard that’s shooting above the 50 percent mark from the field is Kukta right now. The point guard is averaging 24.7 points per game on 52 percent shooting.
Brady Marqouphis, Oxford: Don’t overlook the stellar play of the guard/forward this season. Marqouphis is averaging 23.5 points per game through 13 contests, knocking down 45 3-pointers.
Wellbi Perez-Valera, Boston Trinity Academy: Whether it’s seeing time at the point or shooting guard, Perez-Valera has been difficult to slow down as a scorer. The combo guard is averaging 20.3 points per game this season.
Kenny Donnelly, Millbury: Donnelly is a rare front court player on this list, playing more forward and center. The 6-foot-6 scorer has impressed through 13 games, averaging 19.7 points per game.
Patrick Madden, Hopedale: Not many players can score the way Madden has this season. Playing either guard position, Madden has caused damage and averaging 19.5 points per game through 14 contests.
Thomas Edwards, Avon: Through 13 games this season, Edwards has been one of the top backcourt scorers in the state. The combo guard is averaging 16.5 points per game on 40 percent shooting.
