Albany beats Mart: Live Texas high school football state championship updates recap
Mart and Albany go head-to-head to kick off Day 2 of the Texas high school football championships in Arlington.
The Thursday morning UIL Class 2A Division II showdown pits a pair of 15-0 run-dominant juggernauts. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. (Central time).
It's the fourth of 12 UIL state championships this week at AT&T Stadium from Wednesday to Saturday, three games per day. Gordon beat Westbrook in 1A Division I and Benjamin beat Oglesby in 1A Division II — both six-man football — and Timpson beat Tolar to open the week Wednesday.
All games are being televised regionally by Bally Sports Southwest.

FOURTH QUARTER
-- Adam Hill gives Albany an insurance touchdown with 49 seconds left, a 5-yard TD run on third and goal. (28-10, Albany | 0:49)
-- Mart tries an onside kick, but Albany standout Branson Beal recovers near midfield.
-- After a scoreless third quarter, Mart strikes back. JD Bell takes a handoff to the left, turns it into a seven-yard touchdown run to cut it to a two-score game. (21-10, Albany | 8:27)
SECOND QUARTER
-- Albany strikes once more before the first half clock hits zeroes. Chip Chambers deals a quick pass to Adam Hill for a two-yard TD to give the Lions a three-score cushion at the break. (21-3, Albany | 0:11)
