Live Texas high school football scores from SBLive as Week 5 of 2023 Texas (UIL) season rolls on

Week 5 of the Texas high school football season continues Saturday with another collection of games set to kickoff across the Lone Star State.

On Thursday, McKinney North fended off Tyler in a 31-26 win. Only one team ranked in the SBLive Texas Power 25 lost — No. 14 China Spring fell to Parish Episcopal.

The headliner of the week was No. 4 Austin Westlake at No. 22 Lake Travis.

The Cavaliers (4-0) were the biggest riser in Monday's Texas high school football all-classification rankings update, but fell short of a monumental upset as rival Westlake prevailed, 20-14.

All four teams from the Lone Star State ranked nationally won. No. 6 Duncanville (Texas) thrashed Cedar Hill, No. 12 Galena Park North Shore blew out Beaumont United and DeSoto, No. 11 in the SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25, escaped a scare.

The Eagles (3-0), the No. 2 team in Texas, handed upset-minded Waxahachie its first loss, Duncanville, the top-ranked team in Texas, faces 1-3 Cedar Hill.
