Top 25 Indiana high school boys basketball rankings (3/4/2024)

Check out this week's Indiana basketball Power 25

Fishers holds on to the No. 1 spot after winning the tough Noblesville Sectional, while Flory Bidunga and Kokomo move up to No. 2.

New to the top 25 this week are sectional champs Avon, Guerin Catholic, Crown Point, East Chicago Central, Fort Wayne Wayne, Franklin and Danville.

Indiana boys high school basketball rankings

March 4, 2024

1. Fishers (25-1)

Previous rank: 1

The Tigers have won nine in a row after beating Carmel 54-41, Hamilton Southeastern 54-44 and the hosts 49-47 to win the Class 4A Noblesville Sectional. Keenan Garner had 15 points and eight rebounds against Noblesville.

2. Kokomo (22-3)

Previous rank: 4

The Wildkats have won 16 straight after rolling through the Class 4A Lafayette Jefferson Sectional with victories against West Lafayette Harrison (69-50), the hosts (65-52) and Marion (79-54). Zion Bellamy shot 55% (11-for-20) from 3-point range and scored 39 points in the three games. Kansas recruit Flory Bidunga had double-doubles in the final (23 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 blocks), the semis (28 points, 18 rebounds) and the quarterfinals (19 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists).

3. Noblesville (22-3)

Hosting the state's toughest sectional, the Millers fell 49-47 to Fishers in the title game after ousting then-No. 2 Westfield 71-43. Aaron Fine scored 16 against Fishers and 18 against Westfield.

4. Lawrence North (24-3)

Previous rank: 5

The Wildcats won their own Class 4A sectional, beating Indianapolis North Central 65-51, Indianapolis Attucks 57-50 and Indianapolis Cathedral 75-61. Azavier Robinson had 25 points and five assists as Lawrence North came from 12 points down to knock off Cathedral.

5. Center Grove (20-4)

The Trojans won the Class 4A Bloomington North Sectional with victories against Mooresville (60-37), the hosts (52-38) and Martinsville (71-30). Joey Schmitz and Jalen Bundy scored 15 points each in the title game.

6. Ben Davis (20-5)

Previous rank: 10

The Giants won the Class 4A Southport Sectional by beating Pike 64-45, the hosts 74-53 and Roncalli 50-32.

7. New Palestine (22-5)

Previous rank: 16

Julius Gizzi passed the 1,000-point mark for his career and pushed his program-record single-season record to 779 points, scoring 31 as the Dragons knocked off the previously unbeaten hosts 60-48 to win the Class 4A Greenfield-Central Sectional. New Palestine advanced by edging Mount Vernon (Fortville) 59-56 and Pendleton Heights 60-58.

8. Cathedral (18-6)

The Fighting Irish lost 75-61 to the hosts in the Class 4A Lawrence North Sectional final after beating Warren Central 48-43 in the semifinals.

9. Westfield (19-3)

Previous rank: 2

The Shamrocks' season ended with a 71-43 loss to the hosts in the Class 4A Noblesville Sectional semifinals.

10. Greenfield-Central (24-1)

Previous rank: 8

The Cougars' perfect season ended with a 60-48 loss to New Palestine in the finals of their own Class 4A sectional. Earlier, they beat Anderson 50-44 and Muncie Central 54-44. Braylon Mullins scored 26 against Anderson but was slowed by a back injury in the final and finished with nine points.

11. Brownstown Central (24-4)

The Braves' winning streak is at 15 after they cruised to the Class 2A Southwestern (Hanover) Sectional with victories against Henryville (83-41), the hosts (73-49) and Providence (53-37).

12. Indianapolis Attucks (19-7)

Previous rank: 11

The Tigers beat Indianapolis Tech 63-55 in the Class 4A Lawrence North Sectional quarterfinals before falling 57-50 to the hosts in the semis.

13. Carmel (12-11)

Previous rank: 9

The Greyhounds' season ended with a 54-41 loss to No. 1 Fishers – a team they beat by eight in January – in the Class 4A Noblesville Sectional semifinals.

14. Anderson (18-6)

Previous rank: 14

The Indians dropped their postseason opener, 50-44 to the then-unbeaten hosts in the Class 4A Greenfield-Central Sectional quarterfinals.

15. Mount Vernon (Fortville) (15-9)

Previous rank: 15

The Marauders were edged 58-56 by New Palestine in the Class 4A Greenfield-Central Sectional quarterfinals.

16. Jeffersonville (18-7)

Previous rank: 24

The Red Devils are 12-2 after a 6-5 start and won the Class 4A Seymour Sectional, beating the hosts 45-27, Floyd Central 66-28 and New Albany 75-58.

17. Avon (15-10)

Previous rank: NR

The Orioles won the Class 4A Terre Haute North Sectional, knocking off Terre Haute South 61-45 and beating the hosts 49-41.

18. Guerin Catholic (20-7)

Previous rank: NR

The Golden Eagles pulled out a 75-74 double-overtime win against Indianapolis Brebeuf to win their own Class 3A sectional. They advanced by beating Indianapolis Herron 74-17 and Indianapolis Chatard 54-36.

19. Brebeuf Jesuit (18-6)

Previous rank: 12

The Braves lost a 75-74 double-overtime heartbreaker to the hosts in the Class 3A Guerin Catholic Sectional final. They advanced with wins against Indianapolis Shortridge (52-32) and Heritage Christian (55-39).

20. Evansville Harrison (20-4)

Previous rank: 25

The Warriors won the Class 4A Evansville North Sectional, knocking off Castle 76-53 and Jasper 49-33.

21. Crown Point (19-5)

Previous rank: NR

The Bulldogs have won 11 of 12 after beating Kankakee Valley 68-39, Valparaiso 55-51 and the hosts 68-36 to win the Class 4A Chesterton Sectional. 

22. East Chicago Central (22-4)

Previous rank: NR

The Cardinals have won 20 of 21 and their last in-state loss was 65-55 to Lafayette Jefferson on Dec. 9. They won their own Class 4A sectional, beating Merrillville 60-55, Gary West Side 70-55 and Munster 56-52.

23. Fort Wayne Wayne (21-3)

Previous rank: NR

The Generals are 13-0 since Jan. 6 and are fresh off winning the Class 4A Homestead Sectional with victories over Fort Wayne South Side (74-48), New Haven (84-59) and the hosts (76-66).

24. Franklin (18-4)

Previous rank: NR

The Grizzly Cubs won the Class 4A East Central Sectional, avenging an earlier loss by beating Whiteland 66-56 in the semifinals and knocking off the hosts 41-34 in the title game.

25. Danville (21-3)

Previous rank: NR

Two of the Warriors' three losses have come against Avon. They won the Class 3A Lebanon Sectional, beating Western Boone 75-34, Crawfordsville 65-53 and Tri-West 57-49.
