Top 25 Indiana high school boys basketball rankings (1/6/2024)

Check out this week's Indiana basketball Power 25

The top four teams remain unbeaten and hold their spots, while Indianapolis Crispus Attucks moves into the top five after winning the Hall of Fame Classic.

New to the top 25 this week are Brownstown Central, Lake Central, Avon and Chesterton.

1. Fishers (11-0)

Previous rank: 1

The Tigers won their own holiday tournament behind co-MVPs Keenan Garner and Taden Metzger, beating Bloomington North 94-48, Portage 62-45 and Chesterton 74-42. Garner had 47 points and 31 rebounds in the three games, while Metzger shot 57% from 3-point range and scored 42 points.

2. Lawrence North (9-0)

The Wildcats stayed perfect with a couple of comfortable wins, 68-51 over Franklin Central and 98-72 against Marion.

3. Cathedral (9-0)

Previous rank: 3

The Fighting Irish picked up the No. 1 seed in the Indianapolis city tournament and had wins against Bishop Chatard (66-47) and Bishop Noll (76-58).

4. Westfield (7-0)

Previous rank: 4

The Shamrocks ended an 11-day layoff by knocking off Mount Vernon (Fortville) 41-30.

5. Indianapolis Attucks (9-3)

Previous rank: 10

Tourney MVP Marcus Lewis and Chris Hurt sparked the Tigers to the Hall of Fame Classic title. Lewis had 23 points, eight assists and four rebounds in a 76-51 title-game win over Brownstown Central after contributing nine points and three assists in a 69-59 semifinal win against Kokomo. Hurt had 17 points and five assists vs. Brownstown Central to go along with 18 points and five assists against Kokomo. 

6. Noblesville (9-1)

The Millers won their own tournament, beating McCutcheon 54-25 and edging Crown Point 56-55 in overtime. They also knocked off Pike 69-46.

7. Kokomo (10-3)

Previous rank: 5

Kansas recruit Flory Bidunga had 39 points, 20 rebounds, seven blocks and eight assists as the Wildkats finished third in the Hall of Fame Classic, losing 69-59 to Indianapolis Attucks and beating Brownsburg 87-58.

8. Ben Davis (6-2)

Previous rank: 7

The Giants are in the midst of a 14-day holiday break.

9. Indianapolis North Central (6-2)

Previous rank: 9

Papi Rivera shot 50% from 3-point range and averaged 20.0 points, 3.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals in a 2-0 week for the Panthers. They won 52-50 over Louisville (Ky.) Trinity and 63-55 against Evansville Bosse at their own Paul Loggan Memorial Invitational.

10. Center Grove (6-4)

The Trojans have a 15-day holiday break.

11. Penn (6-1)

The Kingsmen had 13 days off for the holidays.

12. Greenfield-Central (10-0)

Previous rank: 16

The Cougars won the Morristown Holiday Showcase, beating Tri-Central 73-43 and Indianapolis Chatard 66-49.

13. Warren Central (5-4)

Previous rank: 17

Jevon Guess had 24 points and 12 rebounds as the Warriors edged Brebeuf Jesuit 72-70.

14. Anderson (7-2)

Previous rank: 14

After falling 74-72 in overtime to Yorktown, Anderson won its first two games at the Madison County Tournament, 53-50 over Pendleton Heights and 58-29 vs. Lapel.

15. Plainfield (8-3)

Previous rank: 18

The Quakers opened a 17-point halftime lead en route to beating Southport 75-53.

16. Brebeuf Jesuit (7-2)

Previous rank: 19

Butler-bound Evan Haywood continued to put up big numbers, getting 54 points and 20 rebounds as the Braves split two games, beating Evansville Memorial 70-58 and losing 72-70 to Warren Central.

17. Crown Point (6-3)

Previous rank: 20

The Bulldogs finished runner-up in the Noblesville Tournament, beating Castle 70-60 in the semifinals and losing the title game 56-55 in overtime to the host Millers.

18. Brownstown Central (9-3)

Previous rank: NR

The Braves were runners-up at the Hall of Fame Classic, beating Brownsburg 56-48 and losing 76-51 to Indianapolis Attucks. Chace Coomer had 29 points in the two games.

19. Lake Central (9-0)

Previous rank: NR

The Indians went 2-0 at Indianapolis' North Central's Paul Loggan Memorial Invitational to stay perfect, beating Pike 61-45 and Park Tudor 64-57.

20. Guerin Catholic (9-4)

Previous rank: 13

Rob Sorensen averaged 19.5 points and 4.8 rebounds as the Golden Eagles finished fourth at Lawrenceburg's Ray Furney Classic, beating Bethesda Christian 70-58 and Lawrenceburg 53-33 before losing 69-52 to Newport (Ky.) and 65-59 to Whiteland. 

21. New Palestine (7-2)

The Dragons finished fifth at Lawrenceburg's Ray Furney Holiday Classic, beating Jennings County 83-59, falling 72-66 to Newport (Ky.) and defeating Bethesda Christian 69-49 and Pike Central 91-48.

22. Avon (8-3)

Previous rank: NR

The Orioles beat three Kentucky teams to win the Belfry (Ky.) Tournament: Menifee County (81-48), Floyd Central (63-49) and Paintsville (64-38) before getting past Brownsburg 57-56 in triple overtime in the Hendricks County Tournament.

23. Chesterton (6-4)

Previous rank: NR

The Trojans took second to the top-ranked hosts at the Fishers Tournament, losing 74-42 in the final after beating Lawrence Central 57-54 and South Bend Riley 66-57.

24. South Bend Riley (11-3)

Previous rank: 24

Playing in their second holiday tournament, the Wildcats finished third at Fishers. They edged Jeffersonville 60-58 on Payton Baird's halfcourt shot at the buzzer, lost 66-57 to Chesterton and beat Portage 54-47.

25. Evansville Christian (9-1)

Previous rank: 25

The Eagles had a 13-day holiday break.
