Here are the nominations:

Isaiah Campbell-Finch, Boys Basketball, Tampa Catholic: One of the hottest on the hardwood as of late has been Campbell-Finch. The junior scored a game-high 47 points in a 70-66 district championship win over Berkeley Prep.

Jamier Jones, Boys Basketball, Oak Ridge: The junior wing poured in 22 points and added the game-winning assist with 22 seconds left to lift the Pioneers (23-3) to a thrilling 74-73 victory against Windermere and win the Class 7A, District 5 championship.

Sam Ritchie, Boys Basketball, Ponte Vedra: Another game and another stellar outing from Ritchie, who scored a game-high 25 points on 9-of-18 shooting in a 72-52 district semifinal win over Fleming Island.

Jakeel Baker, Boys Basketball, Miami Northwestern: Baker stepped up in district tournament play. In the Bulls’ 63-48 win over Belen Jesuit, the guard had 26 points. Baker also added nine assists, five rebounds and two steals in a win over South Miami.

Eli Contreras, Boys Basketball, Ponce De Leon: Contreras had an all-around performance that nearly was a triple-double. The guard looked unstoppable in last week’s 71-53 victory over Altha, with the senior scoring 26 points, nine assists and eight rebounds.

Elijah Lubsey, Boys Basketball, North Port: The North Port scoring leader was at it again in a 49-46 district semifinal win over Sarasota Riverview, notching a double-double and scoring 25 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

Matthew Carpione, Boys Basketball, Lake Mary: Hitting a game-winning shot is exciting, especially in a district championship tilt. The senior sank the game-winning 3-pointer with two seconds remaining to shock Seminole (Sanford), 48-46, in the Class 7A, District 2 championship game.

Sophia McCarthy, Girls Basketball, Neumann: McCarthy had one of the top performances of any player on the girls basketball circuit last week. She ended up scoring 27 points and 20 rebounds, including the go-ahead shot, as the Celtics won the Class 2A, District 11 title.

Leah Bullard, Girls Basketball, Dr. Phillips: The 6-foot-1 senior turned in a superb double-double effort with 26 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Panthers past Oak Ridge, 92-63, for the Class 7A, District 5 title.
