Here are the candidates for the WaFd Bank Oregon Girls Basketball Athlete of the Week as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Mayen Akpan, South Medford

The sophomore was a rebounding machine for the Panthers at the Class 6A state tournament at the University of Portland’s Chiles Center. She had 15 rebounds in a 48-38 win over Benson in the state championship game. She had 18 rebounds in a 46-43 semifinal victory over Willamette, and she had 18 rebounds and 19 points in a 56-24 quarterfinal win against Southridge.

Chanucey Andersen, Jefferson 

The junior poured in a game-high 33 points on 12-of-18 shooting with four rebounds and three steals for the Democrats in their 70-64 win over Southridge in a Class 6A state tournament consolation game at the University of Portland’s Chiles Center.

Brooke Anderson, Grants Pass

The senior guard stepped up with 17 points, eight rebounds, four steals and an assist for the Cavers in their 54-52 victory over Jefferson in the Class 6A state tournament fourth-place contest at the University of Portland’s Chiles Center.

Avery Andrews, Mountain View

The senior center recorded a big double-double for the Cougars with 21 points, 13 rebounds and three assists in a 64-46 win over Wilsonville in a Class 5A state tournament consolation game at Linfield University in McMinnville.

Olivia Boyd, Silverton

The senior sank the winning free throw, coming with 0.3 second left in overtime, giving the Foxes a 61-60 win over Crater in the Class 5A state tournament title game at Linfield University in McMinnville. 

Kyleigh Brown, Silverton

The senior stepped up in a big way with 22 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block in helping lead the Foxes to a 61-60 overtime win against Crater in the Class 5A state tournament championship game at Linfield University in McMinnville. She had 14 points and 15 rebounds in a 48-29 semifinal victory against Redmond. She had a third double-double, with 26 points and 10 rebounds, in a 53-40 quarterfinal win over Mountain View.

Annie Campos, Henley

The senior guard scored a game-high 23 points on 8-for-12 shooting with six rebounds, three assists and two steals in helping the Hornets post a 61-44 win over Philomath in a Class 4A state tournament semifinal game at Forest Grove High School.

Mahogany Chandler-Roberts, Benson 

The senior forward had a double-double for the Techsters with 19 points and 15 rebounds, helping them post a 51-48 win over Clackamas in a Class 6A state tournament semifinal game at the University of Portland’s Chiles Center. She had 20 points and 11 rebounds in a 51-30 win over Grants Pass in a quarterfinal contest.

Dylan Cheney, Redmond

The junior guard tallied a game-high 20 points, seven rebounds, an assist and a steal for the Panthers in a 45-39 win over Wilsonville in a Class 5A state tournament quarterfinal game at Linfield University in McMinnville.

Kimberly Ceron-Romero, South Medford

The senior scored 19 points, tying her for game-high honors, with four rebounds and four steals for the Panthers in their 56-24 win over Southridge in a Class 6A state tournament quarterfinal contest at the University of Portland’s Chiles Center.

Jazzy Davidson, Clackamas

The junior guard had a big double-double for the Cavaliers with 27 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block in a 65-37 win over Willamette in the Class 6A state tournament third-place game at the University of Portland’s Chiles Center. She tallied 27 points in a 61-34 quarterfinal win over Jesuit.

Taylor Donaldson, South Albany

The sophomore had a game-high 19 points with eight rebounds, three blocks, an assist and a steal for the RedHawks in their 47-32 win over Redmond in the Class 5A state tournament third-place game at Linfield University in McMinnville. She had 23 points, five rebounds and three blocks in a 54-47 semifinal loss to Crater.

Maddie Dustin, Cascade

The senior guard shined with a game-high 20 points, nine rebounds and two steals for the Cougars in their 51-28 win against Klamath Union in a Class 4A state tournament quarterfinal contest at Forest Grove High School. 

Keely Hall, Klamath Union

The senior post pulled down 18 rebounds with nine points for the Pelicans in a 51-28 loss to Cascade in a Class 4A state tournament quarterfinal at Forest Grove High School. 

Isabella Harms, Willamette

The junior forward tallied 20 points, sinking three 3-pointers, with seven rebounds and two steals in the Wolverines’ 53-47 victory against Jefferson in a Class 6A state tournament quarterfinal game at the University of Portland’s Chiles Center.

Anna Harper, Henley

The junior forward/center recorded a double-double for the Hornets with 11 points and 11 rebounds in their 41-38 win over Astoria in the Class 4A state tournament championship game at Forest Grove High School. She had 14 points and 15 rebounds in an 81-54 quarterfinal win over Madras.

Mauriana Hashemian-Orr, Benson

The senior guard had 17 points, eight rebounds, an assist and a steal in helping the Techsters earn a 51-48 win against Clackamas in a Class 6A state tournament semifinal tilt at the University of Portland’s Chiles Center. She had 12 points and 11 rebounds in a 51-30 quarterfinal victory against Grants Pass.

Reagan Heiken, Philomath 

The freshman post came off the bench to score a team-high 16 points with nine rebounds and five steals for the Warriors in a 61-44 loss to Henley in a Class 4A state tournament semifinal contest at Forest Grove High School.

Sara Mangan, Southridge 

The sophomore scored a team-high 27 points with five assists, four steals and three rebounds for the Skyhawks in a 70-64 loss against Jefferson in a Class 6A state tournament consolation game at the University of Portland’s Chiles Center.

Gabi Moultrie, Wilsonville

The sophomore guard tallied a game-high 26 points with two steals for the Wildcats in a 64-46 loss to Mountain View in a Class 5A state tournament consolation game at Linfield University in McMinnville.

Leila Nunez, Jefferson

The junior recorded a game-high 20 points with five rebounds and three blocks for the Democrats in a 54-52 loss to Grants Pass in the Class 6A state tournament fourth-place contest at the University of Portland’s Chiles Center.

Dianara Peña, Klamath Union

The senior guard/forward tallied a game-high 19 points, sinking three 3-pointers, with four rebounds and five steals to help lead the Pelicans to a 54-43 win over Klamath Union in the Class 4A state tournament fourth-place game at Forest Grove High School.

Danaeja Romero-Ah Sam, Springfield

The senior scored a game-high 27 points with five assists, three rebounds and three steals for the Millers in a 71-64 victory against Corvallis in a Class 5A state tournament consolation game at Linfield University in McMinnville. 

Sara Schmerbach, South Medford

The junior scored 15 points, tying her for team-high honors, with four assists and three steals for the Panthers in their 48-38 win over Benson in the Class 6A state tournament championship game at the University of Portland’s Chiles Center.

Brynn Smith, Willamette

The junior guard scored a game-high 21 points with five rebounds, three assists and two steals for the Wolverines in their 53-47 win over Jefferson in a Class 6A state tournament quarterfinal game at the University of Portland’s Chiles Center.

Abigail Winslow, Crater

The senior guard/forward scored a game-high 17 points, going 2 for 3 from 3-point range, with six steals and four rebounds in helping the Comets post a 55-39 win over Springfield in a Class 5A state tournament quarterfinal at Linfield University in McMinnville.

Sage Winslow, Crater

The junior guard scored 23 points, tying her for game-high honors, with four rebounds and four steals for the Comets in a 54-47 victory against South Albany in a Class 5A state tournament semifinal game at Linfield University in McMinnville.

Diamond Wright, Springfield

The junior poured in 30 points on 13-of-20 shooting with nine rebounds, four assists and two steals for the Millers in their 72-53 win over Mountain View in the Class 5A state tournament fourth-place game at Linfield University in McMinnville.

Maitlin Young, Astoria 

The senior guard tallied a game-high 18 points, two rebounds and two assists for the Fishermen in a 54-49 victory against Stayton in a Class 4A state tournament quarterfinal game at Forest Grove High School.
