Mater Dei vs. St. John Bosco will be nationally televised; Here's how to watch
The biggest high school football matchup of the year is here, and the nation will be able to watch.
Unbeaten Mater Dei (7-0) will travel to St. John Bosco (6-1) in Bellflower, California to face off in a Trinity League showdown at 7 p.m. Friday night at Panish Family Stadium in a game that will be televised nationally on Bally Sports Network.
Any region across the country that carries the network will be able to watch the game. Mater Dei-St. John Bosco also be streamed online via the NFHS Network with purchase of a monthly pass for $11.99.
Cooper Perkins (play-by-play) and Tony Moskal (analyst) will be on the call with Taylor Martinez reporting from the sideline.
Last year, Mater Dei won the regular season matchup 17-7, but St. John Bosco avenged the loss last time the two met with a 24-22 win at the Rose Bowl on Nov. 25, 2022, in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 title game (highlight video above).
The winner of Friday's game will likely end up being the league champion and secure the No. 1 seed in the Division 1 playoffs. The tickets for Friday's game sold out in three minutes. St. John Bosco's stadium hold's roughly 5,000.
Mater Dei comes into the game ranked No. 1 in the country in every poll, including the SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25 rankings where St. John Bosco sits at No. 7 nationally.
The game will feature a bevy of high-level recruits, including two 5-star rated players on 247Sports.com in Mater Dei's offensive tackle Brandon Baker (Texas commit) and defensive lineman Aydin Breland (uncommitted). A 5-star rating on 247Sports projects that player to be a first-round NFL Draft pick, which is why there are only 32 5-star rated players across the country for each graduating class.
Other standouts to watch include Mater Dei QB Elijah Brown (Stanford), RB Nate Frazier (Georgia) and CB Zabien Brown (Alabama).
St. John Bosco is highlighted by DB Peyton Woodyard (Alabama), LB Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa and DB Marcelles Williams (USC).
