Vote: Who should be SBLive's Upper Weight National Wrestler of the Week (1/30/2024)?

Here are seven wrestlers for your voting consideration

It's time once again for you to help us decide who is SBLive Sports National High School Upper Weight Wrestler of the Week.

Below are the details on the candidates we have selected for your consideration. Share this post with your friends, family, teammates and classmates and encourage everyone to support the wrestler they find most deserving. You can vote as often as you like and the winner will be announced in next week's poll. Voting ends on Sunday, February 4th at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific).

Congratulations to last week's winner: Joey Monticello of Don Bosco Prep (New Jersey).

Here are this week's nominees:

Zeno Moore (Lake Highland Prep, FL) 144 – The unranked Moore shocked No. 8 Blake Cosby (Dundee, MI) at the Lou Yeager Duals to help the Highlanders hand the Michigan power a loss.

Landon Robideau (St. Michael Albertville, MN) 152 – In a battle of unbeaten nationally ranked wrestlers, No. 7 Robideau prevailed 7-5 over Woodbury, Minnesota’s Alex Braun (No. 18 at 144) in the Orono Invitational finals.

Gunner Holland (Oceola, FL) 175 – Holland, who is ranked 23rd at 175 in the country, decked South Dade, Florida’s Kevin Olavarria mid-way through the second period, 3:21, avenging a loss from a week ago to Olavarria, 7-5, in the Florida 3A State Dual Championships.

Tyler Bienus (Mount Olive, NJ) 190 – Bienus blanked Hanover Park’s Vincenzo LaValle in the finals of the Morris County Tournament, 3-0. LaValle has been in and out of our national rankings. Bienus previously lost to LaValle in the consolation finals of Escape The Rock, 4-3.

Ben Bomberger (Poway, CA) 190 – Bomberger nor his opponent in the Buchanan dual, Sean-Michael Roberts, are nationally ranked, but Roberts is No. 9 in the latest California state rankings and Bomberger is No. 15. Bomberger pulled off a big upset, 3-1, to help propel his team to the dual meet win.

Connor Bercume (Detroit Catholic Central, MI) 215 – Bercume is ranked 22nd at 215. Lake Highland Prep chose to bump Robert Kucharczk up from 190 where he is ranked 17th in the nation in Saturday’s dual in the Lou Yeager Duals. Bercume won that encounter with a 5-3 decision.

Daniel Herrera (Ames, IA) 285 – Herrera, who is a two-time California State Champion, transferred to the Iowa school ahead of his senior season more for football purposes than wrestling, and it seemed wrestling had indeed fallen by the wayside as we checked his activities when updating last week’s rankings. We noticed he had yet to compete, so we removed him from the rankings only to see him surface at this weekend’s IAC Tournament where he knocked off the rust and rolled to the title with a 23-7 tech fall of Luke Flerke (Ft. Dodge, IA).
