The George Mason signee had 22 points and was named the MVP of the VYPE Holiday Invitational on Friday in Houston.
Rance Berney, Martinsville boys basketball
The 6-foot-3 forward heated up late with 15 of his 24 points coming in the final two quarters in a 53-42 win over Woden on Thursday.
Candra Bridgewater, Alvarado girls basketball
She set a new school record with 39 points in a win over Waskom, 83-43, in the Aggieland Tournament on Dec. 28. She was named to the all-tournament team.
Addy Burns, New Home girls basketball
The Angelo State signee had 2 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists as New Home beat Panhandle at the 64th Annual Caprock Classic in the MCM Elegante bracket on Saturday.
Bella Castillo, Prosper Walnut Grove girls wrestling
She posted eight wins, all by pins, to take first place in the 145-pound division of the New Year’s Eve Scuffle this weekend at Frisco Independence.
Colton Collins, Katy Tompkins boys basketball
The senior set a new school record with 53 points in a win versus Houston Aldine on Saturday, which included 9 3-pointers.
Aiden Cooley, Allen boys wrestling
A returning state medalist, Cooley went 5-0 and took first place at the New Year’s Eve Scuffle held Friday and Saturday in Frisco.
Josephine Craig, Temple girls wrestling
She went 5-0 and had all pins on her way to winning the 165-pound bracket at the 2023 Raider Ruckus on Dec. 29 in Leander.
Julie Cuellar, Anthony girls basketball
In three games at the Irvin Tournament, she had 25, 28 and 37 points as the Wildcats went 2-1 in the event.
Kayde Dotson, Beaumont United boys basketball
The New Mexico commit had nine 3-pointers and finished with 30 points and United beat Allen, 70-62 to win the Gold bracket at the In-N-Out Burger Holiday Invitational in Allen on Friday.
Kayden Edwards, Duncanville boys basketball
The junior scored a career-high 45 points, while adding 7 rebounds and 5 assists — also career-highs — in a 90-85 win over Silsbee at The King Cotton Holiday Classic.
Kimora Fagan, Edinburg girls basketball
The Edinburg standout recorded 27 points, 12 assists, seven boards and four steals in a win over Los Fresnos on Dec. 28.
Jamerson Green, Arlington Pantego Christian boys basketball
At the Geneva School Christmas Tournament, the sophomore had a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds in a 69-56 win over Houston Awty International Academy on Dec. 30.
DJ Hall, Plano East boys basketball
He was named the MVP of the Championship Basketball Tournament and helped the Panthers beat Round Rock Stony Point, 55-50, on Saturday. He had 18 points in the finals.
Kasen Hastings, Krum boys basketball
In a 78-45 win over Peaster on Thursday, the senior guard surpassed the 1,000-point mark for the Bobcats in the Championship Tournament in Fort Worth.
Thaddeus Heckman, Salado boys soccer
The senior had two goals and added an assist as the Eagles beat Taylor, 5-1, on Friday.
Leon Horner, Irving Dynamic Prep boys basketball
The 6-foot-6 guard scored 25 points to help Dynamic Prep beat No. 2-ranked Prolific Prep in the Chick-fil-A Classic/Steve Smith National Bracket Championship on Saturday in South Carolina.
Jeremiah Jones, El Paso Eastlake boys basketball
The junior scored a season-high 21 points as the Falcons hammered Crane, 94-33, at the Monahans Chamber of Commerce Classic on Dec. 29.
Isaiah Kalala, Dallas W.T. White boys basketball
The 6-foot-9 junior had 15 points and 12 rebounds to help the Longhorns beat Lubbock Cooper, 56-53, at the Caprock Classic on Friday.
Ruke Ogbevire, Fulshear girls basketball
In a 57-54 win over Pearland Shadow Creek at the Fort Bend ISD Tournament, the junior surpassed the 1,000-point mark in her career thanks to scoring 20 points.
Alyssa Reyes, Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial girls wrestling
At the Snakebite Invitational held on Dec. 29 in Rio Grande City, Reyes went 3-0 to win the 138-pound bracket. She pinned all three foes in the first period.
Landri Richey, Farwell girls basketball
She was named the MVP of the United Supermarkets bracket at the 64th annual Caprock Classic, which wrapped up on Saturday. She had a team-high 16 points while adding 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks in a 55-28 win over Muenster.
Jack Roland, Rockwall Heath boys wrestling
The 106-pounder won all of his matches as the Hawks went 7-0 at the J.J. Pearce Holiday Duals/Stickler Memorial Tournament held Dec. 29-30 in Richardson.
Arsyn Sadlier, McAllen girls wrestling
The Bulldogs 145-pound wrestler went 4-0 and took first place at the Raider Ruckus on Dec. 29 in Leander. She had pins in three of the wins for McAllen, which took second place.
Nunu Walker, Lufkin Pineywoods Community Academy girls basketball
She had 28 points in a 53-41 win over Douglass on Thursday in the Tenaha ISD Holiday Hoops Tournament. She was named to the all-tournament team.
Melinda Winston, Alief Hastings girls basketball
The Georgia Southern signee became the Bears' all-time leading score with 1,891 points, breaking a school record that has stood since 1998.
