The early signing period for Division I high school football prospects began on Wednesday, and many of the top prospects in Texas have put pen-to-paper on national letters of intent, though some haven't. 

Who signed Wednesday, who flipped their respective commitment, and who has yet to make it official?

SBLive is tracking the latest until the early signing period ends Friday. 

Here are the top 15 prospects in Texas, according to 247 Sports, and the latest on their recruitment status:

DJ Lagway

High school: Willis; Position: QB; Rating: 5-star; Verbal commitment: Florida; Signing status: Signed LOI.

Lagway, the nation's top QB, signed his letter of intent in a ceremony at Willis High School on Wednesday, giving the Gators two top-10 players in the 2024 class alongside LJ McCray. (Read more here)

Justin Williams

High school: Conroe Oak Ridge; Position: Linebacker; Rating: 5-star; Verbal commitment: Georgia; Signing status: Signed LOI.

Micah Hudson

High school: Lake Belton; Position: Wide receiver; Rating: 5-star; Verbal commitment: Texas Tech; Signing status: Signed LOI.

Terry Bussey

High school: Timpson; Position: Athlete; Rating: 5-star; Verbal commitment: Texas A&M; Signing status: Unsigned.

After leading Timpson to its first Texas high school state championship in record-shattering fashion, what's next for the nation's No. 1 athlete remains murky. He hasn't reaffirmed his commitment to Texas A&M since Jimbo Fischer was fired in November, and wore Texas gloves. He said he won't sign in the early period

Colin Simmons

High school: Duncanville; Position: Rating: Verbal commitment: Signing status:

What a December for the nation's top-rated edge rusher. He won defensive MVP in Duncanville's UIL (Texas) 6A Division I championship repeat on Saturday, then signed with the Longhorns Wednesday.

Bryant Wesco

High school: Midlothian; Position: Wide receiver; Rating: 5-star; Verbal commitment: Clemson; Signing status: Signed LOI.

Committed to Clemson in June, but reportedly kept listening to other suitors until October, when he slammed the door shut on his recruitment. 

Xavier Filsaime

High school: McKinney; Position: Safety; Rating: 5-star; Verbal commitment: Texas; Signing status: Signed, (flipped to Texas).

Committed to Florida in April, but flipped to Texas on Monday and signed with the Longhorns Wednesday in a ceremony at McKinney.

Dealyn Evans

High school: Pine Tree; Position: Defensive line; Rating: 4-star; Verbal commitment: Texas A&M; Signing status: Unsigned.

Is there a Texas flip coming? Evans didn't sign with Texas A&M on Wednesday, and it's not immediately clear when that will happen. It appears Texas is very much in the picture. On3 reported Wednesday that Evans has a national letter of intent for both schools in his possession, and has consistently spoken to both this week.

Taylor Tatum

High school: Longview; Position: Running back; Rating: 4-star; Verbal commitment: Oklahoma; Signing status: Signed LOI.

The nation's top-rated running back wrapped up a stellar senior season, then put a bow on his December by inking with the Sooners in July. Sooners coach Brett Venables said at his presser Wednesday Tatum hadn't yet signed, but that quickly changed. 

Joseph Jonah-Ajonye

High school: Conroe Oak Ridge; Position: Defensive line; Rating: 4-star; Verbal commitment: Texas; Signing status: Signed LOI.

The elite 6-foot-4, 275-pound lineman. His response? "Elite always gon (sic) play with elite," Jonah-Ajonye tweeted after signing.

Kobe Black

High school: Connally; Position: Safety; Rating: 4-star; Verbal commitment: Texas; Signing status: Signed LOI.

Black, the nation's No. 2 corner, was a late commitment, but he signed his name on Wednesday to back up a verbal commitment he made to Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns on Dec. 13

Drelon Miller

High school: Silsbee; Position: Wide receiver; Rating: 4-star; Verbal commitment: Colorado; Signing status: Signed.

Miller initially committed to Texas A&M in June, but decommitted in October. He kept the Aggies in the picture, but ultimately chose to play for Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffs on Dec. 10. He signed on Wednesday afternoon in a ceremony at Silsbee streamed live on his Instagram. 

Bennett Warren

High school: Fort Bend Christian Academy; Position: Offensive tackle; Rating: 4-star; verbal commitment: Tennessee; Signing status: Signed LOI.

He's already doing home media spots — consider this one done. Warren joins the nation's No. 11 rated class (247 Sports).

Blake Ivy

High school: League City Clear Springs; Position: Offensive tackle; Rating: 4-star; Verbal commitment: Texas A&M; Signing status: Signed LOI.

Signed his letter of intent to become an Aggie in a ceremony Wednesday afternoon at Clear Springs. 

Jelani Watkins

High school: Humble Atascocita; Position: Wide receiver; Rating: 4-star; Verbal commitment: LSU; Signing status: Signed LOI.
