Another round of the 2023 Texas high school football playoffs is officially in the books.

Each week throughout the season, SBLive is taking a look at the top high school football performers across the Lone Star State. We gathered the best of the best, separated offense from defense, and now it’s your turn to cast your vote on a winner.

Here are SBLive’s Texas Offensive Football Player of the Week nominees for December 7-9. Scroll down to read about this week’s list and cast your vote in the poll below. Voting remains open until Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Central time.

TEXAS OFFENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL NOMINEES

Lloyd Avant, sr., Summer Creek

Avant, a Tulsa commit, ran for 183 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries as Summer Creek reached the state finals for the first time in program history by defeating Cibolo Steele, 38-14.

Terry Bussey, sr., Timpson

Bussey accounted for all five of Timpson’s touchdowns in a 35-21 win over Ganado. The five-star Texas A&M commit completed 21 of 26 passes for 204 yards and a pair of touchdowns while carrying it 24 times for 158 yards and three more scores.

Caden Durham, sr., Duncanville

Durham, a four-star LSU commit, rushed for 225 yards and five touchdowns in a 52-10 victory over North Crowley.

Cole Freund, sr., Smithson Valley

Freund caught a touchdown and ran for two more as Smithson Valley rolled by Brownsville Veterans Memorial, 49-21.

Danny Green, sr., South Oak Cliff

Green rushed for 162 yards and a pair of touchdowns — runs of 70 and 62 yards — as South Oak Cliff downed Frisco Emerson, 36-24.

Will Henderson, sr., Gilmer

Henderson only needed 18 carries to rush for 271 yards and four touchdowns in a 79-42 victory over Glen Rose.

Adam Hill, sr., Albany

Hill ran for 167 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-14 win over Sunray. The senior also caught three passes for 42 yards and had two sacks on defense.

Hawk Patrick-Daniels, sr., Aledo

With starting tailback Raycine Guillory out due to injury, Patrick-Daniels filled in to rush for 203 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries in a 43-7 rout of Forney.

Deondrae Riden Jr., jr., DeSoto

Riden Jr. had 34 carries for 254 yards — both career highs — and two touchdowns as DeSoto edged Southlake Carroll in a shootout, 45-38.

Rickey Stewart, jr., Chapel Hill

Stewart, a four-star SMU commit, had 20 carries for 217 yards and three touchdowns in a 56-33 win over Davenport.

Cody Stoever, jr., Wimberley

Stoever ran for five touchdowns as Wimberley dropped a heart-breaker to Bellville, 35-33.
