When San Francisco 49ers’ wide receiver Jauan Jennings threw a 21-yard touchdown to Christian McCaffrey in Super Bowl LVIII, the Tennessee native was reaching back to his high school football days.

Jennings played his high school football at Blackman High School (Tennessee) and he didn’t play a lot of receiver, as the Blaze needed him to throw the ball instead.

The now wide receiver played under center for Blackman in 2013-2014 and had his best season his senior year.

Jennings ended up completing 125-of-222 passes for 2,169 yards and 22 touchdowns to just three interceptions. He also rushed for 877 yards and scoring 17 touchdowns on the ground.

Jennings ended up moving on collegiately to play at the University of Tennessee and converting to play wide receiver before being drafted in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
