Mark Iheanachor cuts list; California 4-star linebacker down to 7

Narbonne (California) four-star linebacker Mark Iheanachor trims his list to 7

One of the top linebackers in the state of California has officially trimmed his list.

On Monday, Narbonne (California) four-star linebacker Mark Iheanachor cut his offer sheet of 16 scholarships down to seven semifinalists - Arizona State, Central Florida, Maryland, Mississippi State, Oregon State, SMU and Washington:

As a junior, Iheanachor was a do-everything playmaker for Narbonne, registering 95 tackles and 16 tackles-for loss defensively with an additional 1,098 all-purpose yards and 16 touchdowns on offense.

Unsurprisingly, Washington made the cut.

Iheanachor, the nation's No. 30 linebacker, visited Seattle just prior to the February dead period and came away raving about the Huskies.

"The trip was amazing," he told SBLive Sports. "My first time being there... atmosphere is crazy! Way better than I expected. I had a bond with the players already and they made me feel at home."

In fact, it was enough to move Washington into serious contender status.

"They're top three, but not three," he said.

Still, several other programs will have a shot to impressive the versatile playmaker.

He intends to take visits to every program on his top seven, as well as the Miami Hurricanes - with more trips still in play.

Iheanachor's top seven includes programs from various conferences all over the country.

So, it would seem the four-star 'backer is weighing his options seriously, regardless of region or conference.
