Josh Williams previews Monday commitment; Michigan, Penn State, Stanford among contenders

Haverford School (Pennsylvania) offensive lineman Josh Williams is down to five

Haverford School (Pennsylvania) offensive lineman Josh Williams accumulated double-digit offers during the recruiting process.

But he's ready to put an end to things.

The versatile 6-foot-4, 300-pound lineman is set to announce his college commitment with 247Sports on Monday at 2 p.m. PT/5 pm. ET.

Williams is down to a final five of Michigan, Penn State, Rutgers, Stanford and Wisconsin and discussed each of his finalists with SBLive Sports:

Michigan: "I have built a great relationship with Coach (Sherrone) Moore since the summer, who coached my position, as well as coach (Grant) Newsome. I can really see myself playing for Michigan and developing."

Penn State: "Coach (James) Franklin and offensive line coach (Phil) Traut(wein) are amazing. Penn State is producing NFL talent each year, developing my position, and competing at the highest levels for championships, so I definitely see myself there."

Rutgers: "Rutgers is a program on the rise and I have been so impressed with all their coaches and facilities and how they handle the players."

Stanford: "I like that Stanford is in the ACC. Being an east coast kid, my family can make all my away games and I’ve built an incredible relationship with all the coaches there."

Wisconsin: "Wisconsin has really spent the most time with me learning my film and getting teaching from coach (A.J.) Blazek. They win the Joe Moore award, too, so I could totally play for them."

Both 247Sports and On3 give Stanford a huge lead over the field in predictions, so expect the Cardinal to be the team to beat for the 4.0 student and Haverford School class president.

Williams is rated the nation's No. 26 interior offensive lineman
