A look at the top recruiting stories of the past few days

The vast majority of impact recruits in the class of 2024 have already announced verbal commitments.

But it's unofficially "flip season," as well as the time of year when recruits take visits.

So, there's a lot of activity on the recruiting trail.

Here's a look at the top recruiting stories of the past few days:

- Aydin Breland commits to Oregon; Ducks land No. 1 player in California

Oregon got a hint of that push last week with the addition of College of San Mateo defensive back Sione Laulea, the nation's No. 1 junior college prospect.

But on Saturday, the predicted surge began in earnest.

- Oregon Ducks recruit hints at multiple commitments: 'I have a good feeling..." 

On Friday, Sunnyslope (Arizona) quarterback Luke Moga tweeted out a message that is sure to intrigue Oregon fans.

"I have a good feeling about these next few weeks (three Duck emojis)," he wrote.

- Texas coaches at Mater Dei game, looking to secure Brandon Baker, flip DeAndre Carter?

On Friday night, Texas Longhorns coaches Steve Sarkisian and Kyle Flood were spotted at the game, likely checking out the top uncommitted talent, as well as Mater Dei offensive lineman Brandon Baker, the nation's No. 1 offensive tackle.

And perhaps working to complete a flip.

During Friday night's game against Stanford on ESPN, fans chanted "We want A.J.," an homage to Houston County (Georgia) quarterback Antwann Hill Jr., the nation's No. 5 quarterback in the class of 2025.

Earlier in the week, Belleville (Michigan) five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, the nation's No. 1 overall prospect in 2025announced he would be in Baton Rouge.

So, too, will American Heritage (Florida) signal-caller Dia Bell, the nation's No. 3 quarterback in the class of 2026.

They doubled the size of the 2025 class Thursday with the addition of Milton (Georgia) cornerback Dylan Lewis, who chose Tennessee over Auburn, Clemson, Kentucky, LSU, North Carolina, North Carolina State and UCF.

- Jericho Johnson elite defensive tackle, visiting Washington, high on Oregon ahead of key trip

The 6-foot-4, 300-pound All-American Bowl selection is down to a top four of Oregon, USC, Utah and Washington - with the Ducks rumored to hold an edge over the field.

But this weekend's result could go a long way toward solidifying Johnson's feelings about his finalists, as he is visiting Seattle for the top-10 clash between Washington and Oregon.
