Xadavien Sims, Oregon Ducks 4-star defensive line commit, 'Mosses' defender for stunning touchdown grab: Look

Oregon recruits have made eye-opening catches in back-to-back weeks

What is it with future Oregon Ducks linemen making spectacular catches in high school football?

Last week, 6-foot-8, 365-pound Clay-Chalkville (Alabama) offensive tackle JacQawn McRoy caught a short pass, broke a tackle and scored a two-point conversion on a play that went viral on social media.

This week, it was the defense's turn.

On Friday, Durant (Oklahoma) 6-foot-3, 290-pound defensive lineman Xadavien Sims 'Mossed' a defender near the goalline, turned his body and casually strolled into the endzone for a touchdown grab that would've been an impressive display even for a natural wide receiver or tight end.

Check it out:

Sims, however, is no future pass-catcher.

The Duck pledge and All-American Bowl selection is rated the nation's No. 156 overall prospect and No. 23 defensive lineman, making him the top recruit in the state of Oklahoma.

While there's an ill-informed perception that offensive and defensive linemen are simply slow-moving giants, the truth is they are often stunningly athletic for their size.

Oregon's 2024 recruiting class has provided excellent examples of that fact in back-to-back weeks.

Overall, Oregon's recruiting class is ranked No. 12 nationally and boasts 17 four-star prospects - with a high likelihood of adding one of the nation's top playmakers soon

Of course, when it comes to the term "playmaker" concerning Oregon Ducks recruits lately that has meant linemen showcasing their pass-catching skills.
