Pennsylvania high school football playoffs roundup: Bishop McDevitt, Belle Vernon, Steelton-Highspire among winners (11/24/2023)

The Pennsylvania high school football playoffs continued on Friday night with the state quarterfinals

The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletics Association football playoffs continued Friday night with 16 teams remaining in each of Pennsylvania's six classes.

There were 36 games were played Friday, Nov. 17 with 12 games still scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 18.

On Friday night, 20 teams punched their ticket to the state semifinals, while there are four more games to be played on Saturday.

Four of the six state champions from 2022 - Bishop McDevitt (4A), Belle Vernon (3A), Southern Columbia (2A) and Steelton-Highspire (1A) - picked up wins on Friday night and the other remaining state champion from 2022 - St. Joseph's Prep (6A) - will play on Saturday.

The PIAA state championships will be once again held at Cumberland Valley High School from Dec. 7-9.

Thursday, Dec. 7th

Class 1A – 1:00 p.m
Class 4A – 7:00 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 8th
Class 2A – 1:00 p.m.
Class 5A – 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 9th
Class 3A – 1:00 p.m.
Class 6A – 7:00 p.m.
