Here are the candidates for the WaFd Bank Oregon Boys Basketball Athlete of the Week as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Cannon Anderson, St. Mary’s (Medford) 

The senior guard poured in 33 points on a 12-of-13 shooting night from the field in leading the Crusaders to an 88-34 home win over Glide in a Far West League contest.

Kyle Bittle, Crater

The junior guard/forward turned in a double-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks for the Comets in a 64-54 win at Eagle Point in a Midwestern League contest.

Bodee Block, Elkton

The junior guard scored 32 points, including 11 in the second overtime, and pulled down 13 rebounds for the Elks in their 78-73 double-overtime win at North Douglas in a Skyline League showdown.

Peyton Bruner, Grants Pass

The junior scored 26 points and sank the winning free throw for the Cavemen in their 66-62 win at South Eugene in a Southwest Conference game.

Landyn Bryant, South Eugene

The senior had a strong all-around performance for the Axe with 14 points, nine rebounds, five assists and a steal in a 64-57 win at Sheldon in a Southwest Conference contest.

Isaac Carr, Central Catholic 

The junior scored a game-high 29 points to help lead the Rams to a 72-47 win over Sandy in a Mt. Hood Conference contest at Central Catholic High School.

Sawyer Clemett, Hood River Valley

The senior team captain tallied a game-high 31 points to help the Eagles tip Hillsboro 60-51 in a Northwest Oregon Conference clash at Hood River Valley High School.

Nick DiGiulio, West Linn

The senior guard sank eight 3-pointers on his way to scoring 28 points for the Lions in their 85-57 win over Lake Oswego in a Three Rivers League opener at West Linn High School. He had 17 points, four rebounds and three assists in a 78-68 nonleague victory at Cleveland.

Dylan Douangphrachanh, Benson

The senior wing poured in 39 points for the Techmen in an 81-72 loss to Lincoln in a Portland Interscholastic League game at the Marshall Campus.

Colby Getting, Portland Christian

The junior post had a big double-double for the Royals with 24 points and 12 rebounds in their 99-40 home win over Nestucca in a Northwest League contest.

Lennon Greenleaf, Putnam

The senior guard scored a game-high 34 points to help the Kingsmen post an 86-77 win over Centennial in a Northwest Oregon Conference game at Centennial High School.

Kallen Gutridge, Wilsonville

The senior wing scored a game-high 21 points and added five assists for the Wildcats in a 52-45 win at La Salle Prep in Northwest Oregon Conference play, and he scored 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting (7 of 10 from 3-point range) in a 67-49 conference victory at Canby. 

Evan Heisler, Lincoln

The senior post had a big double-double for the Cardinals with 33 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks in their 80-74 win over Wells in a Portland Interscholastic League game at Lincoln High School.

Jaylen Hill, De La Salle North Catholic

The junior forward stepped up with 18 points and 22 rebounds for the Knights in a 74-52 win at Westside Christian in a key Lewis & Clark League contest.

Joshua Iwamizu, Hidden Valley

The junior tallied a team-high 21 points for the Mustangs in their 59-57 loss to Phoenix in a Skyline Conference game at Hidden Valley High School.

Brysen Kachel, West Albany

The senior forward tallied a game-high 25 points to pace the Bulldogs in their 60-33 win over Crescent Valley in a Mid-Willamette Conference game at Crescent Valley High School.

James Kefgen, Liberty

The junior wing had a huge double-double for the Falcons with 30 points and 10 rebounds in their 70-65 win at Sherwood in a Pacific Conference showdown.

Jordan Johnson, Century

The senior guard had 25 points, five assists and four rebounds to help the Jaguars tip Forest Grove 71-69 in overtime in a Pacific Conference game at Forest Grove High School.

Jemai Lake, Tualatin

The sophomore guard stepped up with 30 points, five assists and three steals for the Timberwolves in their 79-37 win over Lake Oswego in a Three Rivers League game at Lake Oswego High School.

Jackson Leach, West Salem

The senior guard had 17 points and 12 assists for the Titans in their 82-42 home win over North Salem in a Central Valley Conference contest. Leach now holds school records for assists in a game, assists in a season and assists in a career. 

Austin Maurer, Cascade Christian

The senior center didn’t miss a shot from the field on his way to scoring a game-high 28 points for the Challengers in their 97-29 win over Glide in a Far West League game at Cascade Christian High School. Maurer finished the contest with 1,568 career points, passing his father, Marty Maurer, for second place on the school’s all-time scoring list. He had 40 points and 11 rebounds in a 92-35 win over Sutherlin.

Michael Montez, Umatilla

The junior guard poured in 31 points to lead the Vikings to a 68-37 win over Nyssa in an Eastern Oregon League game at Nyssa High School. He scored 27 points in a 63-58 victory against Burns. 

Baron Moses, Nixyaawii

The senior had a triple-double for the Golden Eagles with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a 100-36 home win over Echo in an Old Oregon League contest.

Tyler Pooleon, Silverton

The senior tallied a team-high 23 points to help lead the Foxes to a 62-48 win over Corvallis in a Mid-Willamette Conference game at Corvallis High School.

Josh Riddle, Santiam Christian

The junior scored 31 points for the Eagles in a 58-46 home win against Sheridan in a PacWest Conference game, and he had 15 points and 12 rebounds in a 51-49 overtime victory at Taft. He averaged 22 points and a double-double in three games for the week, which also included a 73-46 win over Jefferson (3A).

Owen Rupert, Santiam

The junior forward came through with 33 points to lead the Wolverines to a 73-62 win over Colton in a Tri-River Conference game at Santiam High School.

Kai Russell, Westview 

The junior guard averaged 10 points, five assists, five steals and four rebounds per game for the Wildcats in Metro League games against Southridge, Beaverton and Jesuit.

Jaden Steppe, Tualatin

The senior wing had a huge double-double for the Timberwolves with 26 points, 13 rebounds and six assists in their 57-41 win at Oregon City in a Three Rivers League opener. He had 26 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in a 79-37 victory at Lake Oswego.

Keegan Stufflebeam, Days Creek

The junior post tallied a game-high 29 points, sinking four 3-pointers, for the Wolves in their 64-29 home win over Riddle in a Skyline League contest.

Cruz Veliz, Woodburn

The junior turned in a 31-point performance for the Bulldogs in their 78-53 victory at Lebanon in a Mid-Willamette Conference battle.

Asher Vredenburg, Roseburg

The senior guard stepped up with a game-high 28 points on 9-of-10 shooting from the field with five rebounds and five assists in helping Roseburg post a 74-64 win over Grants Pass in a Southwest Conference game at Roseburg High School. He had 21 points and eight rebounds in an 83-74 victory against South Eugene.

Jackson Weiland, South Medford

The senior guard had a strong showing for the Panthers with 24 points, nine rebounds and four assists in a 54-52 win over rival North Medford in a Southwest Conference game at South Medford High School. He had 26 points, seven assists, four steals and three rebounds in a 90-39 victory against Willamette.

Zane Wilborn, South Umpqua

The junior guard turned in a double-double for the Lancers with 33 points and 17 rebounds in a 69-66 home loss against Brookings-Harbor in a Far West League tilt.

Luke Womack, Lakeridge 

The senior had 10 points and four rebounds for the Pacers, but maybe more important, he had many “hustle” plays, diving on the floor for loose balls, tip-backs and so forth in a 58-50 win at Tigard in a Three Rivers League opener.
