CLASS 6A

West Linn 1, Jesuit 0 (SO)

Nyamma Nelson made 12 saves during regulation and overtime, then converted the winning penalty in the shootout as the eighth-seeded Lions avenged their loss to the Crusaders in last year’s state final, winning 3-1 on penalties.

Kate Cheldelin and Kylee Schreck also made their penalty kicks for West Linn.

Jesuit, ranked No. 2 in the country by United Soccer Coaches, saw its 35-game win streak come to an end.

The Lions (13-2-2) will meet No. 4 Cleveland (14-1-3), a 3-1 winner over Mountainside, in Tuesday’s semifinals. The other semifinal is an all-PIL matchup between No. 3 Lincoln (15-2-1), which ousted Sunset 5-3, and No. 2 Grant (15-2-1), which beat Sheldon 2-0.

CLASS 5A

Wilsonville 2, Canby 1

Ashlyn Ring and Kenley Whitaker scored for the two-time defending champion Wildcats, who fended off a challenge from NWOC rival Canby to advance to the semifinals.

Wilsonville (14-2) will face another NWOC rival in La Salle Prep (12-3-2) on Tuesday. The Falcons won 2-1 in a shootout at Summit (3-1 in penalties). Wilsonville won their regular-season matchup 3-0 in Milwaukie.

North Eugene 6, Silverton 0

Zari Thomas scored the first and last goals of the game, and Kendal Priaulx also had a brace as the third-seeded Highlanders (13-2-1) rolled to the semifinals for the fourth consecutive season.

Cricket Phipps added a goal and an assist for North Eugene, Kolbi Priaulx also scored, and Thomas had two assists. Brianna Sullivan recorded her 10th shutout of the season.

The Highlanders will travel to No. 2 seed Caldera (13-1-3), a 2-0 winner over Crescent Valley, in Tuesday’s semifinals.

CLASS 4A

Marist Catholic 3, Gladstone 1

Senior Cloe Chase opened the scoring three minutes into the game, and freshman Libby McLaughlin had a hand in all three goals as the defending champion Spartans (16-0-1) advanced to the semifinals.

Ava Snyder scored midway through the first half, but Gladstone closed to within 2-1 on a long-range shot by Tori Vera just before halftime. McLaughlin tacked on an insurance goal midway through the second half off a Chase assist.

Chase has 51 goals and 19 assists this season, boosting her career totals to 117 goals and 41 assists. McLaughlin has 26 goals and 27 assists.

“The mark of a great team is that every now and again, you can win ugly,” said Marist Catholic coach Stefan Schroffner. “Today, it wasn’t pretty, but we got the job done, and that’s all that matters.”

Hidden Valley 1, Philomath 0

Freshman Kaylee Bennett skipped in a long shot in the 72nd minute, and the fourth-seeded Mustangs kept senior Kamilla Grimmer (32 goals) in check to keep alive their drive to reach a third consecutive state final.

Hidden Valley (12-1-3) will travel north to face Marist Catholic in Tuesday’s semifinals, looking to avenge a 4-0 loss to the Spartans in last year’s title match.

North Marion 5, The Dalles 1

The third-seeded Huskies (13-3) conceded first, but Caile Lader’s unassisted goal in the 33rd minute put them ahead to stay against the sixth-seeded Riverhawks.

Izzy Doubrava leveled the score in the 25th minute off an assist from Callie Cutsforth. Cutsforth scored four minutes into the second half, with Lader adding her second goal two minutes later. Paige Comerford capped the scoring in the 69th minute off Vicky Valenzuela’s second assist of the game.

Kira Bonser made seven saves for North Marion, which will travel to Scappoose in Tuesday’s semifinals.

Scappoose 5, North Bend 0

Alice Davidson recorded a hat trick, and Sarah Myton secured a clean sheet with three huge saves as second-seeded Scappoose advanced to its first semifinal since winning the 2015 title.

Meredith Gardner added a goal and an assist, and Ava Vetsch also scored for Scappoose (15-1).

CLASS 3A/2A/1A

Sisters 5, St. Mary’s (Medford) 0

The Outlaws (16-1) broke loose after leading just 1-0 at halftime to defeat the Crusaders and reach the semifinals for the first time since winning the 4A title in 2011.

“We had a decent first half, but unfortunately, we had a rough game, failing to connect much in the midfield against an older, more experienced Sisters,” said St. Mary’s coach Martin Nelson, whose team will return eight starters next season.

The Outlaws will meet defending champion and top seed Valley Catholic (15-0) in Tuesday’s semifinals after the Valiants ousted district rival Banks 3-0.

Catlin Gabel 8, Creswell 0

Ella Bulkley recorded her first high school hat trick, and Campbell Swaim and Alana Hill each had a goal and two assists as the second-seeded Eagles (14-1-2) kept their drive for an eighth consecutive trip to the state final on track.

Lily Ostrowski had a goal and an assist, and Addi Dauler and Pia Patrickson also scored for Catlin Gabel, which has reached the semifinals every year since 2013. The Eagles will face No. 3 Amity (16-1-1) — which survived a penalty shootout to beat North Valley — in Tuesday’s semifinals.
