Ohio high school football playoffs 2023: Division VII brackets, top seeds, best matchups for second round

The OHSAA football playoffs began last week with 448 teams vying for a state title throughout Ohio's seven divisions.

We are now down to 224 teams, with eight teams left in each region and 32 teams remaining in each division.

All second round games will be played on Friday, Nov. 3 (unless circumstances force a game to be moved to Saturday) at the home field of the higher seed with all games in later rounds at a neutral site to be determined by the OHSAA. The state semifinal pairings will be announced following the regional finals..

The seven OHSAA football State championship games will be played in Canton at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium from Nov. 30-Dec. 2.

Division VII, Region 25

Top Seeds: 1. Dalton, 2. Danville, 3. Berlin Center Western Reserve, 5. Malvern 

Lowest seed remaining: No. 13 Norwalk St. Paul

Most intriguing second round game: No. 3 Western Reserve vs. No. 6 Lowellville

Predicted region winner: Danville

Division VII, Region 26

Top Seeds: 1. Hopewell-Loudon, 5. Patrick Henry, 6. McComb, 7. Lima Central Catholic

Lowest seed remaining: No. 15 Convoy Crestview

Most intriguing second round game: No. 5 Patrick Henry vs. No. 13 Arlington

Predicted region winner: Hopewell-Loudon

Division VII, Region 27

Top Seeds: 1. Reedsville Eastern, 2. Beaver Eastern, 3. Caldwell, 4. Fairfield Christian Academy

Lowest seed remaining: No. 8 Monroe Central

Most intriguing second round game: No. 3 Caldwell vs. No. 6 Portsmouth Notre Dame

Predicted region winner: Beaver Eastern

Division VII, Region 28

Top Seeds: 1. Marion Local, 2. Ansonia, 5. Minster, 8. Cedarville 

Lowest seed remaining: No. 14 St. Henry 

Most intriguing second round game: No. 2 Ansonia vs. No. 10 Mechanicsburg

Predicted region winner: Marion Local
