Ohio high school football playoffs 2023: Division IV brackets, top seeds, best matchups for second round

The OHSAA football playoffs began last week with 448 teams vying for a state title throughout Ohio's seven divisions.

We are now down to 224 teams, with eight teams left in each region and 32 teams remaining in each division.

All second round games will be played on Friday, Nov. 3 (unless circumstances force a game to be moved to Saturday) at the home field of the higher seed with all games in later rounds at a neutral site to be determined by the OHSAA. The state semifinal pairings will be announced following the regional finals..

The seven OHSAA football State championship games will be played in Canton at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium from Nov. 30-Dec. 2.

Division IV, Region 13

Top Seeds: 1. Canton South, 2. Lake Catholic, 3. Poland Seminary, 4. West Branch

Lowest seed remaining: No. 9 Buchtel

Most intriguing second round game: No. 4 West Branch vs. No. 5 Streetsboro 

Predicted region winner: Lake Catholic

Division IV, Region 14

Top Seeds: 1. Perkins, 2. Glenville, 3. Shelby, 4. West Holmes

Lowest seed remaining: No. 10 Napoleon 

Most intriguing second round game: No. 3 Shelby vs. No. 6 Van Wert

Predicted region winner: Glenville

Division IV, Region 15

Top Seeds: 1. Steubenville, 2. Sheridan, 3. Bishop Hartley, 5. Bishop Ready

Lowest seed remaining: No. 13 Indian Valley

Most intriguing second round game: No. 2 Sheridan vs. No. 7 Gallia Academy

Predicted region winner: Steubenville

Division IV, Region 16

Top Seeds: 1. Clinton-Massie, 3. Taft, 4. Archbishop Alter, 5. Indian Hill

Lowest seed remaining: No. 15 Urbana

Most intriguing second round game: No. 4 Archbishop Alter vs. No. 5 Indian Hill

Predicted region winner: Wyoming
