Jordan Speiser named Gatorade Missouri Girls Basketball Player of the Year

Junior standout led Lutheran St. Charles to second-place finish

Lutheran St. Charles junior guard Jordan Speiser was announced as the 2024 Gatorade Missouri Girls Basketball Player of the Year on Thursday morning.

The 6-foot-1 Speiser, who led Lutheran to the Missouri Class 5 championship as a sophomore, averaged 22.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.8 steals per game as the Cougars went 26-5 and finished second in Class 5 this winter.

The first Gatorade Missouri Girls Basketball Player of the Year from Lutheran High School, Speiser follows Grain Valley's Grace Slaughter (2023), Kickapoo's Bella Fontleroy and Incarnate Word Academy's Natalie Poots (2021) in winning the state's Gatorade POY honor.
