Here are the candidates for SBLive's Missouri High School Athlete of the Week as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff.

Halea Bartel, Lebanon girls wrestling

She took first place in the 130-pound bracket with a 3-0 record — all pins — at the Noel Tough as Nails Tournament on Saturday in Rolla.

Piersson Calvert, Ladue boys basketball

He drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Rams a 55-53 win over MICDS in the War on Warson clash on Dec. 5.

Evie Caruso, Saxony Lutheran girls basketball

She tallied a game-high 25 points to help the Crusaders beat St. Vincent, 71-67, in triple overtime on Monday.

Collin Clark, Greenwood Laboratory School boys basketball

In a 79-57 win over New Covenant Academy on Tuesday, the junior had 35 points for the Blue Jays.

Zyree Collins, St. Mary’s boys basketball

The junior guard scored 46, 40, 38 and 19 points this week in four games – the final three games as part of the Dragons winning the Webster Classic. He set a new scoring record for the tournament.

Kendall Costoplos, St. James girls basketball

She recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds in a 54-26 win over Blair Oaks on Thursday.

Addie Czuppon, Oakville girls basketball

In a convincing 52-18 win over Seckman on Dec. 7, she had 31 points, hit three 3-pointers and grabbed eight rebounds.

Samuel Dada, North Kansas City boys basketball

A senior forward, Dada earned game most valuable player honors after scoring 11 points and grabbing 17 rebounds in a 60-55 win over East St. Louis (Ill.) on Saturday at the Norm Stewart Classic. 

Brody Denbow, St. Francis Borgia boys basketball

He hit all four throw attempts in the final 9 seconds in a 58-54 win over Marquette on Monday at the St. Charles West Tournament.

Caleb Estes, Oak Park boys basketball

A junior guard, Estes scored a season-high 27 points to lead the Northmen to a 77-72 overtime win over Vashon on Saturday at the Norm Stewart Classic. Estes knocked down a 3-pointer with 2 seconds left in regulation to send it to overtime. He made three 3-pointers and went 10 for 10 from the free throw line. 

Keeleigh Fish, Albany girls wrestling

She went 3-0 with three pins, including one in 10 seconds, at the Excelsior Springs Tournament on Saturday.

Clayton Garrison, Chadwick boys basketball

The junior scored 38 points to reach 1,000 points in his career in a 75-22 win against Bradleyville on Monday.

Kristin Grogan, Kelly girls basketball

The senior drained 12 shots — including three 3-pointers, and tallied 31 points to help Kelly pick up a 65-39 win over Meadow Heights at the Lady Devils Invitational in Chaffee on Monday.

Jonathan Holt, Camdenton boys wrestling

He improved to 12-0 on the season with four wins at the Versailles Invitational on Saturday. He won by major decision, 11-0, in the 165-pound bracket finals.

Isaia Howard, Plattsburg boys basketball

In the KCI Conference Tournament, Howard dropped 43 points in an 85-78 win in double overtime against East Buchanan on Saturday.

Kayla Jansen, St. Joseph’s Academy girls basketball

She became the 15th player in school history to surpass the 1,000 point mark, coming during a win on Tuesday against Visitation Academy.

Tre Johnson, Link Academy boys basketball

The Texas commit scored 25 points and hit all six of his 3-point attempts in a battle against No. 1 nationally-ranked Montverde.

Brendan Matt, North Platte boys basketball

He scored a team-high 29 points, hitting 8 of 14 shots, to help the Panthers pick up a 72-63 win over Mid-Buchanan in the KCI Conference Tournament — the first win in the league tournament in seven years.

Tate McCubbin, Battle boys basketball

McCubbin led the Spartans to a 72-59 win over Park Hills Central on Thursday at the Norm Stewart Classic. He scored 23 points and added seven rebounds, six assists, five steals and two blocked shots. He was named the game's most valuable player.

Ava McCulla, Parkway South girls basketball

One of three players in double figures, she had a team-high 29 points, hitting 10 of 12 2-point attempts and 9 of 10 free throw attempts in a 66-60 win over Lafayette Wildwood on Dec. 5.

Adam McKnight, Nixa boys basketball

The freshman delivered a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds in a 68-51 win over St. Joseph Benton on Monday.

Brady Nicholson, Ash Grove boys basketball

The senior had 24 points in a win over Greenfield on Thursday and tallied 31 points in a win over Spokane on Tuesday.

Dakota O’Brien, McDonald County girls basketball

The freshman tallied a game-high 22 points and added eight rebounds in a 58-49 win over Webb City on Tuesday.

Quortin Parks, Pierce City boys basketball

He drilled six 3-pointers and finished with 20 points in a 49-22 win over McAuley Catholic on Tuesday.

Jayda Porter, Rock Bridge girls basketball

The sophomore had 26 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots in a 66-52 win over Park Hill South on Saturday in the Norm Stewart Classic.

Derek Rockett, Higbee boys basketball

Scored a game-high 30 points and earned the game's most valuable player honors after leading Higbee to a 65-63 win over North Shelby on Thursday at the Norm Stewart Classic. 

Isabel Robinson, Cameron girls basketball

The freshman had 16 points in the championship game of the Husker Classic in Higginsville on Saturday, helping the Dragons beat Oak Grove, 46-36. She averaged 14 points per game this week and had double-doubles in two games.

Gage St. Clair, Moberly boys wrestling

He pinned three of his four foes and went 4-0 to take first place in the 165-pound bracket at the Longhorn Invitational on Saturday hosted by Parkway West. The Spartans took first place in the team race as well.

Kylie Scott, Carl Junction girls basketball

She became the third sister to score 1,000 points in her family following Megan and Katie. The senior and Oral Roberts signee tallied 14 points on Dec. 8.

Layla Scott, Truman girls basketball

She had a season-high 38 points in a 54-33 win against Lee’s Summit West on Dec. 6, which was after scoring 27 in a 43-40 loss to North Kansas City.

Jordan Speiser, Lutheran St. Charles girls basketball

She hit five 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 36 points in a 63-57 win over Clarksville (Tenn.) Christian on Saturday.

Sy’rae Stemmons, Hickman girls basketball

The junior had 11 points and 13 rebounds, earning MVP honors in the game in a 56-44 win over Grain Valley on Friday in the Norm Stewart Classic.

Kennedy Truman, Cassville girls wrestling

She went 3-0 with three pins and helped the Lady Wildcats take first place at the Cassville Invitational.

Ethan Venable, Oakville boys wrestling

The senior was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler at the Longhorn Invitational on Saturday. He was 3-0 and took first place in the 215-pound bracket.

Dontrez Williams, Sikeston boys basketball

The Bulldogs opened play in the SEMO Conference Tournament on Tuesday with a 90-37 win over Kennett. Williams, an Abilene Christian signee, led the way with 19 points.

Holly Woods, Pembroke Hill girls basketball

She tied the school single-game record with 35 points — which included eight 3-pointers — in a 62-53 loss to Shawnee Mission East on Tuesday.
