Raytown South's Jayla McClinton voted SBLive’s Missouri High School Athlete of the Week (12/11/2023)

McClinton received more than 62 percent of the votes cast

Congratulations to Raytown South girls basketball player Jayla McClinton, who was voted the SBLive Missouri High School Athlete of the Week for Nov. 27-Dec. 3.

She received more than 62 percent of the votes cast for the week.

The Cardinals won the Van Horn Tournament, their third championship in that tournament in a row, and McClinton was one of the driving forces. She had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in a win against William Christian. In a 71-28 win over Kauffman Charter, she scored 26 points, a new career high.

Kearney football player Casey Rooney finished second in the voting after receiving 30 percent of the votes.
