The Winona Tigers (14-0) are one victory away from a perfect season. Standing in their way are the Noxubee County Tigers in Saturday's MHSAA Class 3A high school football state championship game.

Winona is led by senior quarterback Chase Richardson who was recently named Mississippi's Mr. Football for Class 3A. Richardson has thrown 25 touchdown passes and just four interceptions on the season. He has also rushed for 1,229 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Can Noxubee County contain Richardson? Winona caps its perfect season (15-0) by winning the Class 3A MHSAA football state championship.

Winona quaterback Chase Richardson was remarkable, rushing 28 times for 294 yards and 4 touchdowns.

4TH QUARTER UPDATES

WINONA 34, NOXUBEE 27: Noxubee is not dead yet. Ka Mario Taylor connects with Dequadrion Welch on a 58-yard touchdown pass to get Noxubee right back in the game. The successful two-point conversion cuts the lead to seven.

Taylor has now passed for 352 yards and 3 touchdowns.
