Here are the candidates for the Michigan High School Athlete of the Week for Sept. 11-17 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.
Read through the nominees and cast your vote. Voting will conclude Sunday at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced Monday.

Vote: Who is the top setter in Michigan high school volleyball?
Andrew Schuster, Chippewa Valley High School
Senior quarterback Andrew Schuster led Chippewa Valley to a win over Anchor Bay, 44-43, in a huge performance. Schuster totaled six touchdowns as he threw for three, while rushing for another three touchdowns.
Drake Irwin, Rockford High School
Senior quarterback Drake Irwin showed out in a top-10 showdown as Rockford won big against Caledonia, 42-16. Irwin completed 22 of his 28 passes for 431 passing yards, and three passing touchdowns.
Tyler Spark, Allendale
Spark was just that for Allendale in a win over Hamilton. He ran for 327 yards and seven touchdowns with one passing touchdown as well.
Isaac Pace, Northville High School
Senior quarterback Isaac Pace had an efficient performance for Northville as they defeated Canton, 50-19. Pace completed 16 of his 20 passes for 285 passing yards, and five total passing touchdowns.
Kellen Russell-Dixon, Grand Rapids Catholic Central
Senior running back and cornerback Kellen Russell-Dixon was dominant for Grand Rapids Catholic Central in their big win over Middleville Thornapple Kellogg, 49-14.
Russell-Dixon finished the game with 167 rushing yards, on 10 attempts, with three rushing touchdowns, while catching three receptions, for 42 receiving yards, and one touchdown. On the defensive end he compiled two tackles, one pass deflection, and one fumble recovery.
Cason Carswell, Mason High School
Junior quarterback Cason Carswell led Mason to a significant CAAC win over Williamston, 37-12. Carswell completed 17 of his 21 passes for 293 passing yards, and four passing touchdowns.
Caleb Walker, Novi
Walker was awesome in a 39-22 win against Brighton. He threw for 363 yards and six touchdowns.
Jayden Terry, Grandville High School
Sophomore running back and defensive back Jayden Terry is one of the best athletes in the state and continued to show it in Grandville’s 43-28 win over East Kentwood.
Terry finished the game with 14 rushing attempts, for 91 rushing yards, and four rushing touchdowns, while catching one reception for 72 yards, which resulted in another touchdown.
Gerry Hanson, Anchor Bay High School
Junior wide receiver and safety Gerry Hanson was a problem for Chippewa Valley despite Anchor Bay’s 44-43 heartbreaking loss.
Hanson caught six passes for 238 receiving yards, and two touchdowns, while compiling two tackles and one pass deflection on the defensive side.
Tashi Braceful, Southfield A&T
Senior wide receiver Tashi Braceful had himself a performance against Birmingham Groves in a 42-35 win. Braceful caught eight passes for 180 receiving yards, and three touchdowns.
Graham Junge, Flat Rock High School
For the second consecutive week, junior quarterback Graham Junge dominated for Flat Rock in their 56-0 win over Monroe Jefferson. Junge finished the game completing 11 of his 18 passes for 214 passing yards, and six passing touchdowns.
Noah Sanders, Birmingham Groves
The youngest son of Barry Sanders, Noah entered the game and ran for 125 yards on 18 carries with three touchdowns in a 42-35 loss to Southfield A&T.
Jack Mills, Carleton Airport
Senior running back Jack Mills had a great performance for Carleton Airport as they defeated Monroe Saint Mary Catholic Central, 41-23. Mills would rush for 201 yards on 19 attempts, with two rushing touchdowns.
Mackenzie Scheid, Coldwater High School
In girls volleyball, senior Mackenzie Scheid led Coldwater to a 3-0 win over Hastings. Scheid finished the match with 16 kills, one serving ace, 17 digs, and two assists.
Gabby Divita, Grosse Pointe South
Sophomore Gabby Divita had a good performance for Grosse Pointe South in their 3-0 win over Fraser. Divita finished with 15 kills, four assists, two blocks, and 10 digs.
Liv Hosford, Rockford High School
Sophomore Liv Hosford was dominant for Rockford as they defeated Caledonia, 3-2. Hosford finished the match with 20 kills, four total blocks, and 24 digs.
Fernando Munoz, Bangor High School
In boys soccer, Fernando Munoz led Bangor in a huge win over Cassopolis, 7-0. Munoz finished the game with four goals and one assist.
Paul Thompson, Faith Christian High School
Senior Paul Thompson had a great performance for Faith Christian in a 7-0 win over Marquette Manor Baptist Academy. Thompson finished with a hat trick as he drilled in three goals along with two assists.
