Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Georgia High School Athlete of the Week for January 22-27, 2024 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Here are this week's nominees:

Jaylen Colon, Kell Boys Basketball

Colon stuffed the stat sheet with 20 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. His 20-point performance pushed him over 1,000 career points.

Jullien Cole, Shiloh Boys Basketball

Cole went off for 27 points and 11 rebounds in a win over North Forsyth.

Marcus Gillespie, Clarke Central Boys Basketball

Gillespie had a historic performance, finishing with 38 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and three assists in a match-up against Union Grove.

Ramon Soyoye, Chapel Hill Boys Basketball

Soyoye was dominant inside and controlled the paint versus Creekside. He finished with a monster double-double with 20 points, 17 rebounds and six blocks.

Jonathan Goldson, Hapeville Boys Basketball

Goldson scored 33 points in a win over Stephenson and followed it up with 34 points in a win over Forest Park.

Mason Smith, Madison County Boys Basketball

Smith scored 28 points with seven made threes, dished out eight assists and hauled in six boards in a win over Chestatee.

Tianna Thompson, Galloway Girls Basketball

Thompson eclipsed 2,000 career points and did so in style. She finished with 25 points, five assists, and 10 steals, while also getting a win over Kings Ridge.

Kie’Aundria Acree, Monroe Girls Basketball

The freshman was unstoppable in a blowout win over Columbus. She finished with 37 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and four steals.

Kaylon Jackson, Discovery Girls Basketball

Jackson did a little bit of everything in a win over North Gwinnett. She finished with 24 points, eight assists and six rebounds, helping Discovery to a 7-1 region record.
