We give you six candidates to choose from

We will begin with each week of the Georgia high school volleyball season to nominate several candidates for our Georgia high school volleyball player of the week honors and invite you to show your support for the candidate you believe is most deserving by voting.

Read up on our six candidates below and let us know your pick. Voting will conclude on Sunday, September 10th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Editor’s Note: Our Volleyball Player of the Week feature and corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. Here are this week's nominees:

Mallory Hulsey, Armuchee: The junior outside hitter continued her March towards being the top kills leader in the state. Husley notched 25 kills in a 3-1 win over Sonoraville. 

Jensyn Wiederhold, Cherokee: One of the state’s top assists leaders had her best outing of the season in a 3-2 win versus North Cobb. Wiederhold tallied 41 assists in the victory. 

Addison Mclarty, Allatoona: Coming up with her second best kills tally of the season, Mclarty notched 19 in a 3-1 victory over River Ridge last week. 

Destinee Chukelu, Blessed Trinity: It was an all out block party for Chukelu when Blessed Trinity defeated Roswell 3-2. The freshman middle back tallied a season-high 22 blocks in the win. 

Asia Harvey, Sandy Creek: The junior outside hitter has had a stellar fall season and had one of her top performances just last week. Harvey had 17 kills in 2-0 match win over Westlake. 

Peyton Slone, Fannin County: Just a sophomore, the outside hitter matched her season-high for kills in a 3-0 win last week against Copper Basin. Slone totaled 22 kills in the win.
