Mike Smith Jr. tabbed as head football coach at Zephyrhills Christian Academy

Smith Jr. will be the successor to his father, Mike Smith, as lead man

From its infancy as a football program, Zephyrhills Christian Academy has been led by head coach Mike Smith since 2008.

Now, Smith will be passing down the reigns to his son to lead the football program moving forward.

In an announcement via X, formerly known as Twitter, Smith has tabbed his son, Mike Smith Jr., as the Warriors next lead man. The elder Smith will remain on staff as the offensive line coach under his son.

“I am excited to announce that my son Mike Smith will be taking over the program @ ZCA. He will do an amazing job and has great vision. I will be helping him as the OL coach. So excited for the future.”

During his time as head coach, Smith has led Zephyrhills Christian Academy to an overall record of 92-39. The Warriors last season went 8-3, reaching the Class 1S state playoffs.
