The Florida High School softball season is here and we begin our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams have started off the regular season with some great individual performances.

As such, we have eight athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s Polk County high school softball player of the week award from March 11- 16, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 24th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Katelynn Oxley, Bartow, Senior
She struck out nine Lake Region hitters and walked none in four innings, to spark a 7-0 win. She also went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs against Auburndale.

Kamryn Wallisa, George Jenkins, Freshman

She went 4-for-5, scored four runs, two RBIs and a triple against Winter Haven.

Sofia Rivera, Lake Region, Freshman

She belted a home run, scored two runs and added three RBIs against Tampa Sickles.

Keira Morris, Lake Wales, Senior

She hit a home run, stole one base and made three putouts during an 11-4 loss to Coral Reef.

McKenna Meadows, Lake Region, Junior

She went 3-for-3 from the plate and pitched seven innings, giving up one run on four hits while striking out five during a 3-1 win against Tampa Plant.

Kirsten Aldridge, Lake Region, Junior

She went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and an RBI during a 3-1 win against Steinbrenner.

Jayla Jackson, Ridge Community, Sophomore

She went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored during an 18-8 win against Lake Buena Vista.

Shayla Narcisse, Bartow, Senior

She went 3-for-4 with three RBIs during a 10-0 win against Auburndale.
