Milton (Georgia) to face Plantation American Heritage in Week 2 of 2024 high school football season

The 2023 AAAAAAA state champion Eagles are slated to face the Patriots down in South Florida in late August

Talk about no better way to start off the 2024 high school football season down in the southeast.

In Week 2 of the 2024 Georgia high school football season, it looks like we will have a good ole Georgia versus Florida tilt on a Thursday night.

Milton head coach Ben Reaves posted Monday afternoon the Eagles' 2024 schedule and his Eagles will be heading down to South Florida to face Plantation American Heritage. The Eagles are coming off a season in which they defeated Walton to claim the 2023 AAAAAAA state championship in Atlanta.

What's intriguing about the tilt is it looks like it would be right around the time frame of when the nationally renowned Broward County High School Football Classic would be taking place down in South Florida.

Milton took part in the classic last season as well, with the Eagles falling 14-10 to Western on Aug. 24th, which was also on a Thursday night. It was one of only two losses the entire season for Milton as they finished by winning Georgia's highest classification's state title in the end.

It will be a homecoming of sorts for Eagles' 4-star rated quarterback Luke Nickel, who is currently committed to the University of Miami (Florida), just 45 minutes or so away from Fort Lauderdale.
