TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – This Florida Class 1R state championship showdown between Madison County and Hawthorne is part of the 2023 Florida high school football championships, which will feature nine games over three days at Florida A&M University.

- Bryant's pass is incomplete. Hawthorne takes over on downs with 38-seconds left and it will win its second straight state championship with its 25th straight win.
- Bryant takes a sack. It's fourth down the clock is under 50 seconds.
- Madison County needs a miracle. It's second 10 from the MadCo 30 with 1:59 left.
- TOUCHDOWN! Madison County tries a double reverse, but the ball is knocked loose and Naviy Gent recovers it in the end zone for a Hawthorne touchdown. The kick is good and now the Hornets have a two score lead with only 2:09 to play.
- No gain for Terry. Only 2:25 left and the clock is running. Now, the Cowboys call timeout.
- Still alive, Madison County has the ball, second and 12, at its own three.

- Sam Carroll's 26-yard field goal attempt is partially blocked and we remained tied.
- On the same play they used for a first half touchdown, Isaac is dropped for a five yard loss.

- Johnson bulls his way down to the six. Second down.

- INTERCEPTION! LJ Crumity, who fumbled the kickoff, makes up for it with an interception in the end zone.
- Ingram runs up the middle to the five. Hawthorne calls its final timeout with 17-seconds to play in the quarter.
- Isaac makes a first down catch at the 11 and gets out of bounds to stop the clock.
- Ingram gains seven on first down and then spike the ball to stop the clock with 26-seconds on the clock.
- TURNOVER! The kickoff was fumbled at the 23. Hawthorne recovers. They have a chance to take the lead with 44-seconds left in the half.

- Miller moves it to the five.
- On a second and 12 play, Ryshard Miller gains 10. John Christian follows with a short first down run. First and goal.
- BLOCKED PUNT! Sean Williams blocks the punt and makes the recovery. MadCo has it at the Hawthorne 17, first down.
- The Hornets due well to get the ball out to the 30, on third down, but now they will punt with 3:20 left in the opening stanza.
- A high snap goes over Ingram's head. He recovers but it's a loss of 16.
- Bryant's throw to the end zone is nearly intercepted. The Hornets take over on downs on their own 25.
