TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – Following his brilliant performance in Thursday morning’s 1M Florida high school football state championship game, Chaminade-Madonna star quarterback Cedrick Bailey, who is committed to North Carolina State, called his college decision “iffy” when speaking to reporters after the Lions' 56-0 win over Clearwater Central Catholic.

Bailey, who threw five touchdown passes and even caught a TD toss, on a trick play, at the end of the first half, put all his talent on display as NC State head coach Dave Doeren watched from the sidelines.

Early in his remarks, he showed gratitude to Doeren for being on hand.

“It’s great to see to have my coach out here and he seeing me shining and winning,” said Bailey, who also wore an NC State decal on the back of his helmet. “It’s great to have Coach Doreen over here. I put on a show for him and those guys at N.C. State.”

But, when reporters pressed him on what may occur on national signing day (December 20th), Bailey, who recently received an offer from the University of Miami, stopped short of saying he would sign with the Wolfpack.

“It’s kind of iffy right now,” said Bailey. “I think I have my mind set on what I want to do right now, so we’re going to see on signing day.”

Speculation that Bailey could flip to the Hurricanes, where teammate Joshisa Trader is already committed, picked up steam after last week’s semifinal contest when Bailey made the following statement to SBLive Sports Florida.

“The Miami offer was great,” Bailey said on Friday. “So much has been focused on college. But I’m just gonna focus on next week -- the state game, right now. But when the state game is over, that’s when I’m going to focus on college.”

Also after that contest, Jeremiah Smith, an Ohio State-commit who is extremely close with Bailey and Trader said it would be “tempting” to flip to Miami and join his two friends whom he has played football with since they were all 11, should Bailey make that decision.
