Vote: Who should be SBLive's Florida high school football coach of the week (10/2/2023)?

We have eight candidates up for voting from last week's games
Coach of the Week

Congratulations to last week’s winner: Joshua Ross, Citrus

Here are this week's nominees.

Jake Caron, Ransom Everglades: Caron's Raiders won six games all of last season. Now he has his boys off to a 6-0 start and hungry for more wins after a comeback 27-22 win over Coral Shores.

Bob Dare, Bishop McLaughlin: Dare is back on this list and for good reason. The Hurricanes' head coach notched career win No. 200 after defeating Warner Christian last week.

Michaelee Harris, Miami Northwestern: Down, but never out. Harris, an alum of Northwestern, led his Bulls to a 7-2 win over previously undefeated Cardinal Newman last week.

Rick Martin, Naples: With folks around Southwest Florida feeling like it might be a down year for Naples, it's Martin coming in making sure his bunch don't hear the noise. Martin led the Golden Eagles to their 25th straight win over Barron Collier.

Ernest Green, Destin: Just 1-8 in the Sharks' first season in 2022, Green has this group completely turned around in Year 2. Green has led Destin to a 6-0 start after a 22-6 win over Jay.

Fred Reid, River Ridge: The Royal Knights have gone through some transition in the last few years. None of that has mattered with new head coach Fred Reid at the helm as he guided River Ridge to an impressive 22-19 win over Class 3S, District 6 foe Lecanto.

Cory Mentzer, Charlotte: Faced with a number of injuries across the board, Mentzer has navigated his Fightin' Tarpons through it and now has a chance to win a district crown. Mentzer led his team to a convincing 35-14 win over Class 4S, District 15 foe Riverdale, to take control of their destiny within the district.

Brian Allen, Columbia: Allen has his first win back as the Fightin' Tigers head coach as they defeated Orange Park 36-0 last week.
