Vote Now: Who should be SBLive’s Florida Panhandle Defensive Player of the Week (Aug. 31-Sept. 2)?

Here are seven players for your voting consideration

High school football is back in the Sunshine State and so begins our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams started off the regular season with some great individual performances in Week 2.

As such, we have seven athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s Florida Panhandle Defensive Football Player of the Week award from August 28-Sep. 2, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, September 9 at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Marcuise Taylor, DB, Fort Walton Beach: The strong safety was racking up the sacks in Fort Walton Beach’s 28-13 win over South Walton. Taylor had five sacks in the victory.

Jamarion Engram, LB, Blountstown: The Tigers just got by Rutherford 17-13 and needed a strong defensive effort. Engram led the way with a team-high 14 tackles.

Moses Delarosa, ATH, Northview: Last year’s Class 1R state runner-ups are off to an 0-2 start, but Delarosa has been a bright spot. The athlete made 15 tackles in the loss to Escambia County last week.

Trevor Oswald, LB, Bozeman: One of the top tacklers of Week 2 was Oswald, who had 24 tackles and a half sack in Bozeman’s 10-7 win over Southwest Georgia Academy.
