Helix's Kevin Allen III is CIF San Diego Section Football Offensive Player of the Year

Helix has had no shortage of top running backs the past several decades that have run past their competition on their way to the collegiate level. Kevin Allen III is next.
As a senior, Allen III rushed for 1,295 yards and 22 touchdowns, averaging more than seven yards per carry. He also caught 18 passes and scored a touchdown each on defense and special teams.
His best career game came this past season against Granite Hills in the Grossmont-Hills League championship game. Allen III carried 42 times for 286 yards and scored five rushing touchdowns in a 44-43 double overtime loss.
The Eastern Washington-signee made his varsity debut with the Highlanders as a sophomore before coming into his own the past two seasons.
Allen helped push Helix back into the San Diego Section Open Division playoffs for the first time since they won it all in 2019. The Highlanders will be tasked with reloading after losing Allen III and several other top seniors who have helped raise the program back under second-year head coach Damaja Jones.
