The former Oaks Christian standout ended up being the nation’s top recruit before committing to Oregon and now has 11.5 sacks in the NFL for the New York Giants in his second season.
Sierra Canyon freshman Richie Wesley is better as a freshman than Thibodeaux was after recording 9.5 sacks competing against Trinity and Mission League opponents.
Wesley, who stands at 6-foot-5, 230 pounds, entered the season at 14 years old and recorded six sacks in his first two games against JSerra and Oaks Christian.
He finished his rookie campaign with 50 tackles and one fumble recovery on top of his near double-digit sack total.
Don’t be surprised if Richie Wesley receives a 5-star rating and becomes one of the most sought after edge rushers in the 2027 class with SEC and BIG 10 schools coming after him.
