California Top 25 high school football rankings by SBLive/Sports Illustrated (10/30/2023)

Seven teams went through the regular season 10-0 and No. 3 Serra of San Mateo is 9-0 with one game to go

The postseason is here. At least for half of the CIF's 10 sections — San Diego, Southern, LA City, Central and Sac-Joaquin.

The other half — Central Coast, North Coast, San Franicsco, Oakland and Northern — still has a week of regular-season play remaining.

There was a lot of movement from 11 down due to number upsets in the Southern Section's Week 10.

No movement, however, in the first eight spots or at No. 10 Clovis North, which remained No. 1 firmly in the Central Section following a 27-20 win over a red-hot Central-Fresno squad to remain the No. 1 team in that second. The Broncos completed a 10-0 regular season.

So much was made of the Southern Section's 14 brackets, and its top Division 1, lowering the number of teams to eight. That beefed up its Division 2 and 3 tournaments greatly.

After the Southern Section, with 16 of the Top 25 ranked team in the state, San Diego Section has the mot ranked squad with four, including No. 7 Lincoln and No. 8 Carlsbad, which each went 10-0.

Those are two of the seven Top 25 teams to finish the regular season undefeated. The others: Sierra Canyon, Clovis North, Pacifica-Oxnard, Granite Hills and Palos Verdes, Third-ranked Serra-San Mateo is 9-0 with one more game, Saturday versus St. Ignatius.
