Top 10 California high school football LA City Section rankings (9/11/23)

Birmingham, Garfield and Carson stay intact. Granada Hills, Dymally and Franklin rise. Palisades, Hamilton and Narbonne make Top 10 debuts.

Los Angeles City Section football Top 10 rankings as of Sept. 11, heading into Week 4.

1. Birmingham Charter (3-1)

The Patriots thump Hueneme 56-0. Kingston Tisdell threw for 223 yards and four touchdowns, two were to Peyton Waters. Birmingham will have a week off before traveling to Texas to take on Steele High on Sept. 22.

2. Garfield (3-1)

Damian Cornejo ran for 222 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-14 win over Golden Valley.

3. Carson (4-0)

The Colts stay unbeaten with a 56-7 win over Paramount. Jerry Misaalefua ran for 131 yards and three touchdowns on just eight carries.

4. Granada Hills (2-1-1)

The Highlanders beat Kennedy 34-13. Pharrell and Darrell Stanley combined for four touchdowns, scoring two each. Darrell ran for 210 yards.

5. Palisades (3-1)

The Dolphins take down St. Genevieve 35-10.

6. Dymally (4-0)

The Challengers thumped South Gate 62-0 on Friday, and now have true opportunity to take down a City Open Division-quality team in San Pedro on September 22.

7. Franklin (2-1-1)

The Panthers held El Camino Real to just 37 yards rushing and won 27-7.

8. Banning (2-2)

The Pilots felt to Anaheim Western 54-7.

9. Hamilton (2-2)

The Yankees stunned Cleveland 29-21 that earns them a spot in the Top 10 rankings. But can they stay in the Top 10? Hamilton will get a chance to climb in the rankings with a game against Carson this week.

10. Cleveland (3-1)/Narbonne (2-2)

The Cavs suffer their first loss of the season in stunning fashion, falling to Hamilton. Narbonne emerges as a team to watch after beating previously-ranked Venice, 28-10.
