You can vote as often as you like and the winner will be announced in next week's poll. Voting ends on Sunday, February 11th at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific).

Congratulations to last week's winner: Anthony Mutarelli of Council Rock (Pennsylvania).

Here are this week's nominees:

David Altstadt (Evansville Mater De, IN) 106 – Alstadt handed honorable mention Brady Byrd (Washington) his first loss of the season at the Castle Regional in Indiana, 4-2. In IndianaMat’s state rankings, Byrd is No. 4, while Alstadt is No. 19.

Luke Foster (Joliet Catholic, IL) 106 – Foster handled Fargo 16U Double All-American, and Greco Roman champ, Caden Correll (Normal), 6-5, in the finals of the Joliet Regional in Illinois’ 3A Classification.

Wyatt Ulrey (Boonville, IN) 113 – Ulrey won the 113lb weight class at the Castle Regional with a 10-3 win over Evansville Mater Dei’s Caleb Schaefer. Ulrey is all the way down at No. 24 in the Indiana state rankings and Schaefer is No. 8.

Cole Welte (Omaha Skutt Catholic, NE) 113 – Welte, who owns some quality wins but also some frustrating loses that are keeping him out of the rankings, had a perfect 3-0 run at the Class B State Dual Meet competition this weekend with two pins and a tech-fall to help his team bring home the state championship.

Carter Pearson (Southeast Polk, IA) 120 – Pearson’s squad captured the 3A state title over the weekend and his actions played a large role in that outcome. Pearson is a honorable mention wrestler in our 120lb national rankings as are two of the foes he encountered at the duals. In the finals, Pearson pinned Jake Knight (Bettendorf), 6:49 OT, who sits just above him in the rankings and also handled Fort Dodge’s Dru Ayala, 5-0. Ayala is behind Pearson in the rankings.

Quinn McBride (Pennridge, PA) 127 – McBride beat Council Rock South’s Luke Reitter, 6-4 OT, in the finals of the District 1 dual meet championships. McBride is ranked 9th in the AAA 127lb rankings by PA Power Wrestling, while Reitter is No. 7 at 121.

Daniel Zepeda (Gilroy, CA) 138 – While Zepeda’s pin of Mark Bonenberger (Willow Glen) at 1:38 of the first period in the Blossom Valley Athletic League finals isn’t necessarily noteworthy. What is notable is Zepeda, No. 3 at 144, has returned to 138lbs where be beat current No. 1 Bo Bassett (Bishop McCort, Pennsylvania) at FloWrestling’s Who’s No. 1 in the fall. So, we are celebrating Zepeda reclaiming the No. 1 spot in the nation at 138.
