Vote: Who has been the best senior football player in West Virginia in 2023?
We are just heading into the postseason part of the 2023 high school football season here in West Virginia and there’s no shortage of upperclassmen performing at a high level.
It’s no surprise that seniors are showing out in the Country Roads as that’s been the case in the past many times over. This list of upperclassmen features some of the top senior football players we’ve seen or have been on the rise in West Virginia. Take a look at our list and vote for who you feel has been the top performing senior high school football player in West Virginia.

This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.
Here are the nominations:
Matt Frye, QB, Scott: Frye has been one of the state's top quarterbacks all season long in West Virginia. The Skyhawks' signal caller has completed 137-of-207 passes for 2,668 yards and 31 touchdowns.
David Parsons, QB, Parkersburg: When it comes to senior quarterbacks putting up a lot of yards and touchdowns this fall, Parsons has done both at a high level this season. The Big Reds' quarterback has completed 151-of-243 passes for 2,502 yards and 30 touchdowns.
Ethan Rosenau, QB, Tucker County: From records being set to lighting up the scoreboards on Friday nights, Rosenau has proven himself to be among the elite players in the state. Rosenau has thrown for 2,100 yards and 38 touchdowns this fall.
Gage Wright, RB, Parkersburg South: Among all the senior running backs along the Country Roads, Wright leads them all in yardage. The tailback has rushed for a state-leading 1,889 yards on 149 attempts and scored 23 touchdowns.
Chase Lowe, RB, Wirt County: Right behind Wright is Lowe when it comes to yardage and he's found the endzone aplenty, too. This fall, Lowe has carried the ball 182 times for 1,607 yards and scored 18 touchdowns for the Tigers.
Chase Parsons, LB, Wirt County: The middle linebacker has tracked down anyone and everyone seemingly with the kind of numbers he's put up. Parsons has made 150 tackles, 19 for a loss and one sack.
Dominick Collins, WR, Princeton: The 5-foot-10, 160-pound wide receiver has always found a way to get behind opposing defenses. Collins has done it all season long for Princeton, catching 52 passes for 1,199 yards and scoring 20 touchdowns.
BJ Williams, WR, Clay County: Williams is another speedster at the wide receiver position that's been nearly impossible for defensive backs to keep up with. The Panthers' split end has hauled in 79 passes for 1,053 yards and scored 17 touchdowns.
Nathaniel Hulver, RB/LB, Phillip Barbour: No matter which side of the ball you ask Hulver to play on, he produces. The running back/linebacker has rushed for over 1,200 yards on offense and tallied 128 tackles on defense.
Maddox Anderson, WR/DB, Tucker County: Whether he's playing wide receiver or seeing time at free safety, Anderson has been inevitable. The two-way stud has caught 44 passes for 692 yards and 16 touchdowns on offense. Flipping over on defense, Anderson has picked off eight passes and made 26 tackles.
