2B WIAA girls basketball semifinals: Okanogan rallies to beat Warden behind Jacey Boesel
SPOKANE - Okanogan rallied back from a 12-point deficit to return to the 2B Washington High School Girls Basketball State Championship for a second consecutive year, defeating Warden 52-45 in the semifinals Friday at Spokane Arena.
Jacey Boesel had a game-high 26 points and eight rebounds, including a go-ahead 3-pointer with 4:20 remaining in the third quarter. She followed it with a spinning score with an and-1 flourish to give the Bulldogs a 37-32 lead, which they held for good.
Warden’s Lauryn Madsen scored a team-high 18 points for the Cougars.
Okanogan, which lost to Colfax in last year’s title game, will play No. 1 Napavine in the championship game on Saturday at 5 p.m. Napavine beat Adna 57-33 behind 25 points and 14 rebounds from Hayden Kaut.
