Lynden girls basketball guard Finley Parcher voted WaFd Bank Washington High School Athlete of the Week
Congratulations to Lynden's Finley Parcher for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Washington High School Athlete of the Week for Feb. 12-Feb.17!
There is a rising star in Washington girls basketball - and she lives up north. The ninth grader led the Lions past Archbishop Murphy in the Class 2A District 1 title game, scoring 17 of her game-high 25 points in the second half as Lynden pulled away. The Lions have won 17 games in a row and enter this week's state championships as the No. 2 seed in Yakima.
Parcher received 52.8% of the vote, beating out Toppenish girls basketball standout Viviana Hernandez, who finished second with 38.6%.

Caden Andreas, Ridgeline boys basketball: Led Falcons' district-consolation road game at No. 2 seed Walla Walla, scoring 24 points. including five clutch free throws later to secure Ridgeline's first berth ever to 3A regionals.
Mia Broom, Lakeside of Seattle girls basketball: Led Lions' charge in ending two-year Sea-King District championship run of Garfield girls with a game-high 24 points in the team's 60-47 title-game victory at Bellevue College.
Jonas and Mason DesRochers, Skyview boys wrestling: What an impressive showing by these pair of ninth-grade twins at Mat Classic. Jonas delivered a last-second 6-5 win over returning champion Curtis Carlisle, of Rogers, in 113 finals of 4A and Mason won the WIAA title a few minutes later at 120.
Tyler Gildersleeve-Stiles, Snohomish girls basketball: Junior post player had 16 points and seven rebounds, and it was her buzzer-beating putback basket that stunned three-time defending district champion Arlington, 45-43, in the Dist. 1 championship game.
Quentin Harding and Alan (A.J.) Salguero, Orting boys wrestling: Both Cardinals' standouts won their third career Mat Classic titles - Harding in the 138 finals of 2A, and Salquero in 126 finals of 2A. Both are set up to become first four-timer-in-same-year teammates in state history next winter.
Viviana Hernandez, Toppenish girls basketball: Was clutch with a team-high 21 points, 17 coming in the second half, as the Wildcats won their first 1A SCAC District title by shocking Wapato, , 57-52, ending the Wolves' 14-game winning streak.
Ben Madson, Pullman boys swimming: Swimmer of the meet set a new 2A state mark in the 100-yard backstroke (48.61) to go along with his other win in the 50 freestyle. Greyhounds also were runaway winners of the team title at King County Aquatic Center
Cody Miller, Sumner boys wrestling: Became just the second boy to complete a four-year career undefeated (143-0) as he zipped through the 157-pound weight class in 3A, pinning childhood pal Landon Porter, of Olympia, in the state finals in 5:07 to win his third Mat Classic title.
Zack Munoz, Mossyrock boys basketball: Guard poured in a game-high 21 points with six assists and five steals as Vikings captured their first boys basketball title in 52 years with 79-35 win over Naselle.
Braydon Olson, Mark Morris boys basketball: Can anyone stop this scoring machine, especially in a big-stakes game? Olson poured in a game-high 31 points as the Monarchs defeated Columbia River to win Class 2A Dist. 4 title. Had 24 points and 10 rebounds in semifinal win over Ridgefield.
