Congratulations to Anacortes football brothers Brady and Brock Beaner for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Washington High School Athletes of the Week for Oct. 9-Oct. 14!

Indeed, against Squalicim, two Beaners were better than one! Brock, a running back, rushed for 101 yards and four touchdowns while Brady, a wide receiver, had also had a pass-catching touchdown and two interceptions on defense as the Seahawks won 34-13 to remain undefeated in the 2A Northwest Conference.

The Beaner boys received 49.4% of the vote, beat out Woodinville LB Ryan Bowles, who finished second with 37.3%.

WASHINGTON NOMINEES

Ryan Bowles, Woodinville football: The Montana State linebacker commit was huge in the Falcons' upset of Bothell. He had a 34-yard fumble return for a score, had another interception that set up a touchdown and caught a touchdown pass.

Ethan Carver, Toledo football: Senior was unstoppable against Adna, rushing for a career-high 314 yards and four touchdowns, including scores of 36, 43 and 65 yards in a vicory.

Ava Durgan, Mead girls volleyball: In a five-set class against Gonzaga Prep, the junior led the Panthers with 18 kills and 12 digs - and her defense was the decisive final-set force to push Mead past the Bullpups.

Bode Gardner, Mount Spokane football: The runaway 4A/3A GSL MVP favorite did it again - six catches, 147 yards and two touchdowns on offense, and a pair of interception returns for scores in a victory over Cheney.

Lyla Hart, Union girls soccer: In a matchup against Class 3A contender Gig Harbor, Hart tallied a pair of goals, including the game-winner as the Titans beat the Tides, 4-3.

Logan Sloman, North Kitsap football: With the 2A Olympic title on the line, the league's best player was big - 51-yard touchdown catch, a 48-yard rushing score and three first-half interceptiions in the team's win over Bremerton,

Blake Springer, Monroe football: What hasn't this all-3A Wesco signal caller he done? Springer passed for 304 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and rushed for a score as the Bearcats clinched the Wesco South title with a win over Edmonds-Woodway.

Wyatt Stephan, Bellingham football: What a season for this multi-sport standout. He caught seven passes for 197 yards and five touchdown, scoring in every quarter in a win over Blaine. Four of his scores were 30 yards or longer.

Cly Stephens, Ridgefield football: Junior kept the Spudders right in the hunt for 2A GSHL title by rushing for a career-high 283 yards on 35 carries and a touchdown in a victory at Columbia River.

Kyson Thomas, Moses Lake football: Mavericks' do-everything senior caught eight passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns, added a 90-yard kickoff return for a score and had a fumble recovery in the team's 4A CBBN win at Sunnyside.

Justin Webber, Chiawana football: Did a little bit of everything in a 4A/3A MCC win over Southridge - caught a 70-yard touchdown from Julian Martinez, returned a punt 50 yards for a score and had two interceptions on defense.

Kailey Willsey, Davis of Yakims girls volleyball: Against 4A CBBN power (and rival) West Valley of Yakima, the junior tallied a career-best 36 kills as the Pirates knocked off the Rams in five sets for their first series in a couple of decades.
