WASHINGTON NOMINEES

Marius Aalona, Yelm football: The senior feasted on the Union defense, collecting 11 receptions for 138 yards and three touchdowns - all from his brother, Damian, at quarterback.

Abagail Archibald, Callie Mickelson, Holly Thoren, Tenino girls soccer: This trio had its kicking shoes on in a lopsided victory over Winlock. All three of them registered hat tricks in the match.

Braden Dunham, Colville football: The Crimson Hawks are 2-0 - and this receiver-turned-running back is a big reason why. He rushed for a career-high 202 yards and had three total touchdowns in a win over North Central.

Katelyn and Laura Eichert, Lake Stevens girls volleyball: Sisters on the reigning Class 4A runner-up squad had a banner opening week. In 17 sets, Katelyn had 132 assists and 16 aces while Laura had 79 kills and 13 aces.

Indiana Jones, Kennedy Catholic football: Who said the fullback position is dying? The junior hauled in a 21-yard touchdown pass, rushed for a 5-yard score and had a 32-yard interception return for a TD in a win over Highline.

Zaveon Jones, Mountlake Terrace football: The preseason all-state running back broke through the Snohomish defense for 252 rushing yards (and 300 total yards) and four total touchdowns in a 3A Wesco victory.

Ethan Kastner, Tumwater football: "Air Tumwater?" In a road victory over previous-No. 1 North Kitsap, Kastner completed all 10 passes for 146 yards and four touchdowns - and was the first leg of a double-pass score as well.

Kendall and Parker Mairs, Camas volleyball and girls soccer: Both sisters sparkled in non-league showdowns against Olympia. Kendall had 13 kills, 14 digs and three blocks in a three-set win in volleyball while Parker had both goals in 2-2 draw in girls soccer (also had two goals against Grant (OR).

Quinn Mueller, Ridgeline girls soccer: Tallied a hat trick and scored half of her team’s goals in a 6-0 GSL victory over Central Valley.

Gunnar Peterson, Eastmont football: Rushed for 166 yards on 27 carries to become the school's all-time leading rusher in a non-league victory over Timberline. Peterson also had a receiving touchdown in the game.

Victoria Rodriguez, Mercer Island girls cross country: Took over the early lead in Washington girls country with a top 2-mile time of 11:21.2, capturing the individual title at a jamboree at Lower Woodland Park

Kenai Sinaphet, Marysville-Pilchuck football: In the Tomahawks' upset over then-No. 6 Stanwood, the running back rushed for 175 yards on 12 carries, including three touchdowns. Two of those fourth-quarter scores were long ones (73, 51 yarders).

Josh Woodard, Richland football: In an MCC game that featured 1,200 yards of offense, the Bombers' quarterback was unstoppable - 20-for-31, 388 yards, seven touchdowns; rushing score - in a win over Hermiston.
