After talking to coaches around the state, SBLive WA is releasing it Class 2A preseason Top-10 girls volleyball rankings heading into fall season:

1. COLUMBIA RIVER

Rapids eyeing three-peat with the all-state sister duo of senior Lauren Dreves (Auburn commit) and junior Sydney Dreves back at OH.

2. RIDGEFIELD

Spudders handed Columbia River its lone loss of 2022, and with Stanford-bound MB Lizzy Andrew, there’s a good chance of a third straight all-GHSL final.

3. BURLINGTON-EDISON

The junior all-state combo of Lexie Mason (OH) and Mia Whitlocks (OH) keeps the defending NWC champ/’22 third-place finisher in title conversation.

4. LYNDEN

The Lions, the top seed in the 2022 tournament, again boast a strong lineup topped by all-staters Ashley Shumate (OH) and Mya VanderYacht (L).

5. PULLMAN

Greyhounds swept through GSL dropping just two sets, advanced to the state semis in 2022 and are aiming at back-to-back state trophies.

6. ELLENSBURG

2A player of the year Abby Harrell is at Villanova, but the Bulldogs return OH Alana Marrs, an Oregon State commit, in defense of CWAC title.

7. NORTH KITSAP

Vikings have been to nine straight state tourneys and will defend the Olympic League unbeaten dropping just five sets along the way.

8. SHADLE PARK

The GSL has two state berths and the Highlanders could benefit with league player of the year Abbey Flerchinger (MB) among returners.

9. TUMWATER

The T-birds missed state tournament for just the second time since 2009, but a strong returning cast has Yakima in their sights.

10. WHITE RIVER

Runners-up to Washington in SPSL 2A, the Hornets had trophied in five straight state tourneys before 2022 and should be hungry.

Others: Black Hills, Mark Morris, Washington.
